In fact the main new band in Moscow out of those who sing in English – Manicure – is in the first place hysterics and nervousness. In the recording Manicure didn't manage to fix their main qualities – a surprising for these places masterly performance and power. It's more reasonable to listen to their live performance.

Convincing guitar music is made by the Manicure project – gloomy and in a good way mannered post-punk and by the way on drums and bass in this band are playing two very nice girls.

Here's an excellent Moscow band which brought in their penny in the revival of post-punk. It's called Manicure, and is made on principle two girls, two boys. The band is playing in scathing manner, energetically, in gloomy tones – everything is according to the rules of twenty years ago. There is in those people pleasantly understandable cynicism and impudence and it undoubtedly wins all hearts.

Typical British post-punk but with the same manic depressive history. During four songs Manicure manage to go from the merry guitar slovenliness to the grave decadence through the anxious groove and almost unhealthy hysterics.

Having knocked together a band only a year ago, Zhenya Novikov, Zhora Kushnarenko, Polina and Anya Butuzovi in the record time became one of the most loved and promising bands of the Moscow independent scene. Probable cause of Manicure's success is a timely up-to-date sound which distinguish them from the majority of Russian bands.

In that what make those two boys and two girls there is no rave, but with all this melancholy it's not at all the uncertain outpourings of the depressive teenagers. This band has only four songs available for the public but it's worth considering it's manner of the self-expression in the frames of this evident tendency

Young Moscow band Manicure corresponds one of the most promising bands of the Russian independent rock scene. Gloomy melodies, put on the dance rhythm penetrate you from top to the bottom and make you move with the beat. The group which contains two boys and two girls who, according to their own statement do not sleep at all, has chances to become the main discovery of the year. If the absence of sleep affects in such a beneficial way the reserve of the creative power, then probably it's better to reconsider my order of day.
