ABOUT US
Here at Manacast, our aim is simple. To review, play, and interview both signed and unsigned artists featured on myspace. Manacast is a purely independant zine, run by a bunch of sad music obsessives from a sleepy village on the South Coast of England.
If you are an artist, signed or unsigned and would like us to review your music please send us a message and we will endevour to tell it like it is! All reviews are posted in our blog section. We ask that anyone interested in our reviews and the music we play subscribe to our reviews blog, in order to guage who is reading our site, and the musical preferences our readers have.
We showcase some of our favourite MySpace artists on the player each week, and don't upload peoples music without their expressed permission, so when contacting us, please confirm that you are happy for us to upload your tunes.
You are welcome and indeed encouraged to post dates for upcoming gigs, EP releases etc in the comments section!
If you know of a group that should be reviewed here, let us know!!
Many of you have expressed an interest in sending us a demo. Please send these to:

We regret that we can't guarantee to feature every artist that sends us music, but rest assured that we listen to everyone who goes to the trouble of sending us CDs!

Oxjam - A Month Of Music in October
The month of October sees Oxfam produce their incredibly ambitious and worthwhile UK-wide event Oxjam, 31 days of music in order to raise money for their charity. Events are happening all over the country, and it's still not too late to hold your own Oxjam night. Click here to visit the official Oxjam website, for information on how to take part and events happening near you. Go get involved!
A Few Thankyous.
Thanks to everyone involved over the last couple of months who have helped Manacast become a popular, successful fanzine. Special thanks goes out to The Joe Acheson Quartet for allowing us to exclusively feature their Burning Circle track on our player. Other thanks goes out to Christ. for very kindly agreeing to our first ever interview. Also, a big shout goes out to Monochrome Museum Internet Radio for giving us a massive shout out in their previous show.
A Deluge of Post!
We have been receiving demos thick and fast through the post, and fully intend to air our views about them as soon as we can!
Festival Fever!
After a disappointing IOW festival (and a very heated debate with promotional site wightvibe about it!), Manacast are hoping to have a better experience at the Bestival event on Robin Hill in September. Bestival takes a healthy interest in unsigned talent, and we will be on the look out for artists to write about. Who knows, we may see you there!
In other festival related news, Manacast have been in contact with the Glastonbury Festivals team, and are honoured to be welcomed to review their unsigned bands competition held in early 2007. Details of the competition can be found on their website www.glastonburyfestivals.com
Manacast Needs You!!!
Thanks to all the bands and individuals who have helped Manacast grow over the last 6 weeks from humble beginnings to a well read fanzine, through sending CDs to review, letting people know about us and just generally being supportive! We still need as much help as we can get to take over the world, so please tell your friends all about us! Also, don't be shy to leave blog comments on reviews you like (or don't like for that matter) and leave kudos points when you feel they are deserved! Please do subscribe to our blog, it is useful for us to know who is interested in what we do!
