Malecoda was created by founding member Matt McGrath, at this time the band stood on its own as a solo project with a different name, Malebolgia in 2004.

Malebolgia signifies the epitome of all evil, the eighth layer of hell in the legendary Dante's Inferno. With building repressed animosity he began the writing process to create something truly abominable that aimed directly into the fiery brimstone of the abyss. He self released demos with eerie bone crushing riffs and deranged use

of his whammy bar until 2006 when comrade Will Rivera joined the havoc. Their uncommon execution on music landed them a remarkable endorsement deal with infamous custom company KxK guitars. In 2007 the demo, Hordes of Annihilation was born as Matt shredded on his ill-disposed axe and emerged a savage rancorous vocal style while Will followed along on his 4 string bass. This duo was indeed conjuring up a recipe for something differential and barbarous but there was a missing piece to the band.

They began to taste the stardom and searched to gain a drummer to obtain a more realistic sound from the drum machine they had been using, with much luck they came across the multifaceted drummer Dave Culross (ex- Malevolent Creation, ex-Gorgasm). In late 2007 the trio formed and entered Sub Sonic Studio in Sherley, NY with high hopes and Jan of 2008 officially began recording their debut album. Sadly, many complications arose with the engineering and had to surrender Dave Culross. This did not stop Malebolgia's thrive to find a fitting drummer, they were introduced to Igor Cheifot (Muspellheim, Silent Strain) from Vancouver, Canada. Igor was exactly the raw talent the band needed, they picked up from where they left off and got to work. Couple months flew by but difficulty developed with the distance so the trio yet again dismantled and they were left without a drummer. Fed up and enraged they continued as a pair of musicians to bring Hordes of Annihilation to the surface and used a drum machine to hold the place of their misfortune.

September 2008 right before their release they fell into trademarking issues and was forced to change the name from Malebolgia to Malecoda. With the newly changed name symbolizing the commander of all demons, Malecoda surely led themselves in the right direction and risen from the ashes. They bursted with great ablaze onto the Metal locality with renewed vigor and Hordes was put out as a demo in October 2008. After their successful demo was put out, they were highly praised by various web zines and reviewed by countless sites such as U.S owned Mouth for War, Metal Underground, Beowolf Productions and even over seas like

Finland's Metal Rules or Serbia's Speed of Light.

As the band and the demo acquired recognition Malecoda wanted to take the step to play live gigs, in 2009, where the crew began to audition drummers for the prolonged void they been experiencing. No one seemed to fit the standards of the high agility blasting prior to the finding of Senen Solis (ex- Beyond the Flesh, and current band The Grieving Process). His extraordinary technique landed him a permanent slot to decimate the battery in winter of 2009. With their line up tight as ever, Malecoda is surely ready to destroy and dominate with 5 brand new ominous and sinister songs not yet recorded. Malecoda is fully geared to put out their notably anticipated full length in 2010, Check back for updates. As of now the band is hard at work on their new album and looking to start performing very soon.
