MAKREL

The Faroese five piece Makrel roots back to 1997, when most of the current members formed a experimental rock/metal band called Happy? The name was changed to Makrel in 2002 with the ambition to reach higher goals and to create more defined music as a band. Although the first attempt, 2003s Stinkar, was an album of many different styles mixed together, this was the album that lead to 2004s Wonderland, which has been described as catchy emotional rock music that travels from colourful soft passages to hard rocking brutal outbursts.



Having participated in every major competition and event in their homeland and performed in neighbouring countries like Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Switzerland, Makrel entered the studio again, this time in Norway. The third album Transcend was released on 6th of March 2006 and once again Makrel prove to have moved in a new direction musically, sound- and quality wise.

Being a highly productive band like Makrel, takes a lot of dedication and energy this is something that the band brings on stage. They put a lot into their stage performance visually, creating an experience filled with intense emotion and dreamlike sound trips.
