Created in the spring of 2004, Mad Science Fair is the brainchild of songwriter Mike Clayton, ex-front man of the legendary Champaign band Hot Glue Gun. Drummer David Domal has backed such Minneapolis notables as Paul Hiraga (ex-Breaking Circus/The Mings) and Lori Wray (ex-27 Various/Jayhawks). Jim Mefford is ex-bassist for CU cult favorites ADHD. In an industry dominated by riff bands, MSF is a refreshing change, relying on old school song writing to make their case. They mix lush vocal melodies with rich power pop creating a vast, hypnotic sound. The band had been hitting the road for the past few years to support their CD ".for a better tomorrow" on MUD/Parasol Records (www.parasol.com). More recently, though, Mike has relocated to Portland, Oregon. Jim has become a proud new Daddy and is jamming with ex-ADHD mates in Golden Quality. David is honkey-tonk’n with Dottie and The Rail. However, you can still catch an occasional glimpse of MSF, when the moon is full and you’re a little too drinky drinky.
