Madison, a.k.a. Tavonia Madison Taylor was born and raised in Jamaica Queens, NY. Coming from a musical family (her mother sang lead in her gospel group and her father was a popular NY radio DJ), Madison caught the hip-hop bug at an early age while listening to a playback of her brother Lovelace first demo.
At the the age of 11, Madison moved to Long Island to live with her father where she would attend Junior High School. There she discovered and fell in love with Heavy Rock Music. Her musical interest covers many genres, but it’s her love for rock and rap (Aerosmith, Nirvana, Run DMC, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ozzy Osbourne, and others) that has guided her to her true love and the perfect musical mix “Hip Rock”.
Madison writes powerful songs about complex things: angst, love, family. Phrases turn, emotions connect, melodies soar. Madison writes from a perspective of the young woman of today and together with Producer / Engineer / Composer / Alan Scott "SEVEN" Plotkin (Public Enemy, Aerosmith, Run DMC, Vanessa Williams) she has created an alternative blend of Rock and Hip Hop.
Madison has been busy performing with her band at venues all around New York City such as; Club Snitch, Crash Mansion, SOB’s, DROM and The Studio at Webster Hall. Madison’s debut video Sorry 4 was premiered on Video Music Box and was available on Fuse On Demand during the entire month of June 2009.
