Macnificent

Combining an upbringing in the streets with a mind meant for running fortune 500 companies, Macnificent is here to let you know it's ok to combine the street hustler's mentality with book smarts. Born and raised in the infamous streets of South East San Diego, Macnificent spent most of his youth in and out of Juvenile detention centers and although he always received good grades in school, his illegal activities would prevent him from moving further academically. After being accepted by Morehouse University, but not being able to attend due to being incarcerated at the age of 19 Macnificent decided to turn his life around and use what he learned in the streets to apply to the music business. At the age of 19 he launched Sidewayz World, INC and signed a distribution deal with music industry mogul B-12 and then power house distributor Bay Side Distribution. Quickly applying the same methods and business savvy he learned in the streets and from the business books he had read, Macnificent released "The Komp" which featured West Coast Legends Mac Dre, Luni Coleone, and Messy Marv. "The Komp" also acted as an introduction for the rest of the artists on Sidewayz to the music industry. Following the success of "The Komp" Macnificent and Beta Bossalini collaborated for the South East San Diego classic "Overhated & Underrated. "After releasing "The Komp" and "Overhated & Underrated," Macnificent would go on to release a flurry of other releases including "The Secret Congregation," a group record consisting of himself, Suga Free and Beta Bossalini. He also released records from Latin Legend Mr Shadow, West Coast Legend Luni Coleone, and the late great Mac Dre. On top of his national releases, Macnificent would keep a foot on the throat of music with his largely popular "Explicit Game," a mix tape series which is now at it's fifth edition as well as ten mix tapes from various artists on the Sidewayz Label. Now in 2009 with a new group of projects ready for release as well as plans to expand the Sidewayz World brand, Macnificent has not only arrived but also proven that the same mentality used for success in the streets can be applied to growing a company into a major factor in entertainment.
