Mac Pryd

"PRYD" Born in Harvey, Illinois to a mother and father who were poor but rich in soul , spirit and realness . He grew up in the projects of Chicago (Stateway Gardens) and the gritty streets of Racine, Wisconsin (Racilla) the ghetto has always been a part of him. As a young boy unfortunately he had always dealt with the pain of the Ghetto and seeing the drugs, gang violence and degrading images portrayed by his peers and his surroundings. He was not very popular in school but knew the importance of having an education; but the curriculum failed to keep his attention. As a moderate student he took little interest in history and social studies having always thought there was more to life outside the school system. Active and very good in sports he'd always had a drive to be something big. Having shared the pain and seen the example of a hard working father. He took to heart that he had to do what ever it is that needed to be done to keep a job to support himself and family and he vowed to himself to never sell drugs. It all really started with just a pen and a notebook, during the time when free styling was the rap style of choice. He didn't care for the shit talking of the freestyle scene the f*** your mama dis tactics therefore didn't catch on or didn't want to. Mac PRYD never felt as if he fit the so called description of having swagger(smoking weed,pushing dope or trying to be a "pimp")he more of a self awareness that gave him a swagger that was unique to him something that set him apart from all the rest and made women stop and stare. Coming straight out of high school he became the average working adult.He had not been able to find the time or the money for studio time and he felt as if his dream would never began to be realized. Around that time he met a co-worker who invited him to a studio session to flow over a track he'd made.That was the ignition of the flame that burns for his craft and the beginning of his desire to be in the booth and deliver each song like it is his last. Mac PRYD eventually relocated where he met a producer by the name of Catalyst. He'd finally found someone who could produce a track that would compliment him instead of him complimenting the track. After listening to several he picked one in which he recorded the self entitled song "PRYD".Catalyst was blown away and commented that as far as lyrics and flow that he was untouchable. Unfortunate circumstances forced Mac PRYD back to the St.Louis area where he began his long quest to find a semblance of what he'd left behind. He found that with Shock City Records who introduced him to Blak Traks who then merged to become Hit Syndicate/Shock City Records. As one of the first to be signed to this new label he began to record a series of hits such as" Dance 4 Me ","Cloud 9"and "Joy Ride"and on a more serious note "Coal Mine",and one that hits close to home and his favorite "That Was Then". These are just several out of over 100 songs written. He is now well on his journey to become what he strives to beA PLATINUM SELLING ARTIST.
