Danny Ladwa aka Lyrikool Lipz, Multi-talented Vocal Artist, began his career in 1998 when he stepped on stage as a Human Beatbox artist at a venue in London. His background is in singing and rap and musical styles range from Hip Hop and Reggae to Soul, Funk and Dub. In 2002 he worked alongside 'Supa Mc TC Islam' (son of Afrika Bambaataa) at 'EcoSystem Festival' in Brazil passing the mic on a 4 day freestyle session to Hip Hop and Drum and Bass music. Soon after he joined band 'NOU' in Brighton (One Little Indian Records) for their UK tour, playing a fusion of Hip Hop and Rock. In 2005 he collaborated with Gaudi and the Live Dub Laboratory at the Glade Festival, UK followed by touring the UK with Gaudi and featured later on Gaudi's album 'No Prisoners' on the track 'Brainwashed Again'. In 2007 he won a place in the UK Beatbox Championship Final after winning previous heats.
Highlights of career so far:
2000 – Performance on the alternative music stage ('Glade Stage') at Glastonbury.
2002 – Various performances during the 'Ecosystem 2.0' Festival in Manaus, Brazil alongside 'Supa MC TC Izlam'.
2005 – 2 week UK Tour with band 'NOU' (One Little Indian Records). Street Performances at the Edinburgh Festival alongside 'LippicooL' this year and for the following 3 years. Performance on main stage at the 'Glade Festival' with band 'Live Dub Laboratory' performing alongside 'Gaudi' (Interchill Records, Six Degrees Records). Performance at the 'Brighton Hip-Hop Festival' and in the Spiegel-Tent at the Brighton Fringe Festival.
2006 – Short tour in Ireland with DMC (DJ Mixing Contest) Champion 'JFB' and well established Brighton-based guitar specialist ''J'm'.
2007 – Winner of the midlands heat of the UK Beatbox Championships, claiming a place in the UK Finals. Re-appearance at the Glade Festival with the 'Live Dub Laboratory'.
2008 – Supporting act for 'The Flying Pickets' in Vienna, Austria during the acapella festival. Various performances around Vienna and Lunz Am See with Austrian-based string quartet: 'Netnakisum'.
2009 – Various performances in 'Lunz Am See', Austria whilst also coordinating daily human-beatbox workshops. Various performances with Danish band 'Dorthe E' in and around Denmark. Another visit to Denmark this year for performances at the 'Christiania Festival' in Copenhagen. Promotional shows for 'Samsung' in Delhi, India.
2010 – Vocals recorded on track 'Brainwashed Again' released on Gaudi's album 'No Prisoners' (six degrees records) – Worldwide Release. Hosted the main stage of the Edinburgh Mela and Fife Mela. Gaudi's 'No Prisoners' Album Launch at the Vibe-Bar, Brick Lane, London. Performance at 'Forte Di Bard' (www.fortedibard.it) north Italy with Gaudi.
