LYKIN BIOGRAPHY:
THEIR BEGINNING: LYKIN was formed in early 2006. Some time had passed before all of the members of the band were actually in place, but, it was not long before this 5 member group realized that they had a natural flair for taking a multi-level and original approach to the music writing process.
THEIR MUSIC: LYKIN creatively interweaves its own breed of metal with epic undertones. It is this particular style and sound that has helped them to achieve significant notoriety in the local music scene. Their musical prowess has given them an edge that just simply attracts people regardless of age. The group as a whole agrees that every song written offers something different.
THEIR APPROACH: LYKIN loves to please a crowd and what better way to do that than to include them. Their performances motivate. Audience participation has always been an inspiration to the band. It creates a synergy during a performance that is just as signifcant as the music itself. It is a place where people, both on stage and off, can meet on common ground and have fun.
THEIR GOALS: Their goals have included writing music with catchy groves, great hooks, and meaningful lyrics, as well as putting themselves out in the public as much as possible. Long term goals include, but are not limited to, looking at major record labels, film (or related) opportunities, and working their way up the ladder to perform in the larger clubs/venues, theaters, and arenas. Fortunately, they do consider themselves entertainers as well as musicians ( a must in this business). There is no doubt that they love to have fun while out to perform a show, yet at the same time, they are very serious about the quality of their music and that's what it's all about.
THEIR PHILOSOPHY: "We go into every venue, club, or theatre with a professional, fun-loving, attitude and a specific mind set. Once we hit the stage and the lights come on, it's time for the LYKIN in us to come out and play. Ultimately, we unleash this powerful music to the audience and watch as we, and our audience, transform into this intensely cohesive group of people to experience the irresistable nature of music. We rock hard and never disappoint our audiences." It has been said that we "add an ingredient unlike any other band in the area."
THEIR EXPOSURE: LYKIN has had the privilege of sharing the stage with numerous local and out of town bands as well as opening for such national touring acts as (HED)PE, DOPE, BOBAFLEX, EARSHOT, PRIMER 55, CRITICAL BILL, NEVERSET, JOAN RED, KINGSPADE, OTEP, ANEW REVOLUTION, EYES SET TO KILL, AS SUMMER DIES, NONPOINT, TAPROOT TANTRIC, ECHOVALVE, CLEVERFORM and TRACK FIGHTER.
