Lustans Lakejer were formed in 1978 as a punk/new wave band. By 1981 they had developed their own sound which mixed influences from glam rock, art rock, electronics and disco and they released their self-titled debut album. Later that same year Lustans Lakejer made their breakthrough with the second album ”Uppdrag i Genève”. They consolidated the success with several tours, the hit single "Diamanter" and a third LP: ”En plats i solen”, which was produced by Richard Barbieri from the English group Japan. It was also released in English as ”A place in the sun” under the band name Vanity Fair.Over the years Lustans Lakejer went through several line-up changes and after two more albums they disbanded in 1986.

All the original albums are now available on CD as Deluxe Reissues with bonus tracks galore and individual 16-page booklets, including lyrics and liner notes by Johan Kinde.
