Soprano L'Tanya Monnyeen Moore hails as a native of Atlanta, Georgia.



Ms. Moore received the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree with honors from Morris Brown College in Atlanta. She completed the Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she has appeared in opera, in master classes and in recital.



A noted teacher, Ms. Moore facilitates workshops in Vocal Pedagogy, Church Music, Youth Music Ministries, and the development of Music Ministries for church congregations. She is in constant demand as a Praise & Worship leader for conferences across the country. Ms. Moore is a member of the first family of Saint Philip A. M. E. Church. She serves as the Director of Music/Activities at Saint Philip A.M.E. Church.



Her concert credits include appearances with the Atlanta Philharmonic Black Symphony/Chorale; the Opera Workshop at Morris Brown College and the Atlanta University Center; Northern Illinois University; the Illinois Opera Theater; and Onyx Opera, Inc. (Atlanta). Her operatic repertoire includes such diverse roles as Mercedes in Carmen, Madame Butterfly in Madame Butterfly, Arabella in Arabella, the Second Woman in Dido & Aeneas, Serena in Porgy and Bess and La Maestra dell Novizie in Suor Angelica. She completed the world tour of the opera Porgy & Bess with Houston Grand Opera, touring Japan, Italy, and France. While in France, Ms. Moore played the role of the "Strawberry Woman" at Opera Bastille.



In the field of theater, L'Tanya performed in her fifth season of Black Nativity with Jomandi Productions Inc. She recently performed in the cast of Cotton Patch Gospel at the Rialto Theater with Theatrical Outfit Inc. of Atlanta. In 2003, L'Tanya performed in Pinocchio at the Seven Stages Theater. From 2001 to 2003, L'Tanya served on the faculty of Clark-Atlanta University as Adjunct Professor of Music in Voice. In the field of Jazz, L'Tanya performed the Sacred Music of Duke Ellington at the Cathedral of Saint Philip during their Concert Series. In 2004, she performed this same work with Orchestra Atlanta.



A gifted director of choirs & choruses, L'Tanya was commissioned by The Chevrolet Company & Central City Productions to direct the Chevrolet Youth Choir as a part of their Excellence in Education program of Stellar Awards 2001, 2002 & 2003 in Atlanta. L'Tanya traveled to New Orleans with the Chevrolet Youth Choir to perform during the Essence Music Festival 2002. The choir also performed at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta during the "Praise Song" fest and the NBA 2003 All-Stars Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. LTanya was recently featured again during the 2005 Stellar Awards Nominee Banquet, where she led a youth choir of 40 voices, sponsored by the McDonalds corporation.



Amid all of her wonderful accomplishments, God has graced LTanya to record her first solo album, set to be released Spring 2006. The project features LTanya in all of her vocal abilities, from Worship Leader to Operatic Soprano. The songs are sure to speak to you wherever you are and cause you to find hope through worship in the presence of God.
