When the words ‘all-girl group’ are uttered these days, it’s hard not to imagine a gang of scantily-clad, hip-shaking, lip-synching women performing overly-rehearsed, choreographed dance moves. Love Pentagon dares to challenge the stereotype, bringing a new sound, and image, to female artists alike. This five-piece psychedelic dance rock band is composed of versatile, seasoned musicians, with members contributing to other bands such as The Clydesdale, Pan De Sal, Action Cat and Chemical Ex. Love Pentagon’s live shows promise to bring a mix of raw energy with female-powered bravado, psych-rock influenced electro-pop, and onstage antics complete with retro-inspired style, star-shaped tambourines, party lights, and unicorns.

OUT NOW!

"With Bang!, the assiduous quintet (various members also pop up in local groups Chemical Ex, Action Cat, Pan De Sal and The Clydesdale) manage to pack all the enthusiasm, cohesion and pageantry of their live shows onto a six-song, superhero-comic-themed EP. Recorded July 27 and 28 and mixed, engineered and co-produced by Death By Stereo vet Paul Miner, Bang! features upbeat electro-pop rhythms and spacey psychedelic breakdowns, with a sprinkling of tambourine and glockenspiel thrown in for good measure. Unicorns play a prominent role, but further scrutiny reveals some seriously dark subject matter including manipulation, alcoholism, death and really scary circuses."

-- Julie Seabaugh, Las Vegas Weekly

"Love Pentagon's tunes sound like daydreams -- all curlicues of whooshing synth and breathy coos that swallow any clouds from the sky -- but they're formed from the stuff of nightmares: dying of ennui, problem solving with cheap wine, growing up in the circus and, uh, unicorns.

Equal parts whirring pop and dark-hued Krautrock, Love Pentagon's tunes are twitchy, tempestuous and full of hairpin turns. From indie disco rave-ups to ominous space pop drones, the band utilizes a bright palette of sounds (hand claps, glockenspiel, chimes, clanging sound effects) to haunt dance floors like the ghost of Julie Ruin."

-- Jason Bracelin, Las Vegas Review-Journal

"The biggest surprise this year was Love Pentagon, a quintet of lovely ladies who produce an even lovelier, yet edgy musical attack that incorporates diverse instrumentation and rhythms without sounding at all like a prog-rock band. Instead, vocalist Christina Z and her cohorts supply enough pop hooks to carry each of Bang!'s five songs into seemingly new sonic territory. "Dark Circus" is the perfect TV noir theme song, while "Mulberry Murder" chronicles a man's descent into madness and despair with sharpened Interpol-grade guitars and elegant synth lines. The standout, though, is still "Diamond 700 Minus Star," which, when performed live, always get the audience pumped. Is Love Pentagon Vegas' next major rock export?"

"Most of Las Vegas is such an old-boys' club that women are often marginalized, especially on the music front. One of the exceptions is this quintet. Love Pentagon geeks out in '60s psychedelica, '80s electro, and timeless Nuggets-ish pop rock, boasting impressively varied instrumentation and foregoing the usual girl-group boilerplates.
