BIO - "In the current world of hip-hop and R&B, from a creative and artistic standpoint there is very little that is new under the sun. There’s the legions of self styled pimps and gangsters that sell wholesale violence, degradation and misogyny to an adoring albeit often misinformed public; there are the culturally aware poor righteous teachers, whose lessons of pan-africanism and self-empowerment stand as beacons of hope to the hip hop faithful; there are the skateboarders who encourage the youth to “kick and push” their way to a carefree life; and then there’s LC, a young twenty something rapper from Yonkers, N.Y. who defies definition and description. LC charges up the game with a new energy – it’s safe to say that he’s a breath of fresh air to an otherwise stagnant industry.
At once lyrically conscious, musically motivated, soulfully seductive and ethically aware, LC speaks not to those who are interested in debating how bad life is, but to those who are committed to making life better. His rhyme skills are formidable, and his production is top notch, but what makes LC unique is what he says, not how he says it. A lifelong fan of hip hop as an art form, LC knows that there is an open lane in the industry for a sincere poet who races toward the light of self actualization and strives to escape the darkness of hate and despair. Take just one listen to one of his songs and it’s clear he has a different message than any other being told in hip-hop today. With songs like “Struggle to Live Happily”, LC provokes the listener to stretch out and test their limits, with peace, happiness and contentment as the endgame. His latest single, “Beauty’s in Your Mind”, encourages people to look within themselves to find true beauty.
LC and Precision Hits plan to change the game by replacing lyrics of fear with faith, despair with hope and hate with love. With slick production, clever hooks and mind stimulating rhymes, LC is here to make you feel good again, and he’s the perfect man for the job."
Background
Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, LC moved throughout the suburbs of New York City during his lifetime and has always kept a close ear to what’s hot in the streets of rap’s birthplace. LC’s influences range from storytellers like Slick Rick to the passionate Tupac Shakur. Not limited to just rap, from an early age LC was drawn to the soulful sounds of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, while also enjoying the essence of rock of such bands as Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2.
During his collegiate years at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, an injury forced LC to leave behind his childhood dream of becoming a professional baseball player and at the encouragement of his friends, transformed what was once a hobby into a finely-tuned repertoire.
In 2006, he took the next step and together with the business-minded Kathryn Neel and promoter Leon Kruset, formed the independent record label “Precision Hits” which has led him to perform at such places as the “The Times Union Center” and “The Lark Tavern” in Albany, NY, nightclub “T New York” in New York City, “Club Groove” in Brooklyn, New York and the “Jimmy’s Seaside” in Stamford, CT. Currently LC is working with top producer 88 Keyz towards the completion of his first album, a preview of which will be available this summer.
Precision Hits is a fully functional and continuously growing independent record label, making its impression on the industry with its first artist, LC. The Precision Hits team is headed by:
Adam Kluge – Chief Executive Officer
Kathryn Neel – Chief Operational & Financial Officer
Leon Kruset – Chief Promotional Officer
Bruce Budd – Director of Art & Design
Lisa Fiorillo – Director of Marketing
