Lisa's life took a dramatic turn in 1997, when an advert was placed in The Stage magazine looking for hopefuls to audition to form a fresh, fun pop group. Lisa along with thousands of other hopefuls turned up to audition but of course only five had what was needed. After numerous gruelling auditions and a whole lot of line-dancing, Lisa was chosen to become a member of the global pop phenomenon Steps.

Steps went on to sell a total of 15 million records world-wide and in the UK achieve 15 top 5 hits, including 5, 6, 7, 8, Last Thing On My Mind, One For Sorrow, Heartbeat, Tragedy, Better Best Forgotten, Love's Got A Hold On My Heart, After The Love Has Gone, Say You'll Be Mine, Better The Devil You Know and their multi-platinum selling albums Step One, Steptacular & Gold (their Greatest Hits album).

Through out their career, Steps received countless awards include a special achievement award for Best Selling British Live Act at the Brit Awards. They also received recognition for their record breaking 33 date tour. Their sell out tours sold a colossal 1 million tickets world wide, earning Steps an entry into the record books.

Steps also had their very own TV series called Steps To The Stars, which was critically acclaimed within the music industry and fans alike.

In 2002, Steps decided to call it a day.

In 2003, Lisa signed with the Mercury Label to embark on her solo career. Her first single Lately (co-written by Lisa) was a top 10 hit. This was follow up by the single Too Far Gone, which entered the UK charts at 11 and the release of Get It On with funky dance outfit Intenso Project.

With Lisa being one of the hottest and most familiar faces in British 'celebrity' pop, Lisa was given the chance to star in her very own MTV series called Totally Scott-Lee, an 8-part reality TV show charting the daily life and career fortunes of Lisa. It would also follow Lisa on the release of her new single Electric, written by Guy Chambers and Ben Adams.

Totally Scott-Lee was a massive hit in the UK and achieved higher ratings than the 1st series of the Newlyweds. It also became the 2nd most successful UK production for MTV and was recently nominated in every category at the UK MTV Awards.

In addition to the numerous TV appearances and magazine shoots, Lisa is currently touring through the UK and Europe with her refreshing untamed new musical direction.

"I am really putting in 110%, Totally Scott-Lee is a big gamble for me, but I'm a fighter and up for the challenge. I'm obviously petrified that my single won't make Top 10 but I'm putting my career in the hands of the public, Electric is a fantastic track, a real pumping dance floor filler! I've always been a closet raver at heart," confesses Lisa, "so it was natural for me to do something uplifting with the dance sound I love."

"I wanted to release something with a feel-good factor stamped on it, Electric, is sexy, chic and a whole lot of fun," she says, demurely. "I'm not ashamed of anything I've done in the past, Steps was a fantastic experience for me, but I think it's time to look at the here and now."

And what a here and now it is, Lisa is set shock with her electrifying all-pouting sexy new image, a million miles away from her chart-busting exploits of her former band Steps, and straight into a mature limelight specifically shaped for her. Shocking, but true, Lisa Scott-Lee is electric!
