Linus Stubbs (29 year old Lance Palmer) was born and raised in Ogden, Utah where his crates of records and studio still reside today. Linus was raised on skateboarding & snowboarding, hip hop & punk rock, graffiti & design all of which contribute to his DIY recipe for forward thinking hip hop planted beats. Whether he’s snagging a loop from a soul record here or some drums from a jazz record over there, Linus has the aptitude to dice them up and shape a composition that will have you head nodding before you know it. Garnering influence from ghetto house parties, desert raves and local hip hop and hardcore shows, Linus entered the world of beat making as a teen. Fast forward 10 years later and creations are now being sought after by some of hip hops most up and coming emcees. 2009 saw the official release with Taskrok (Urban Life of the Suburbanites) which was received to acclaim, pairing Linus’ dusty beats with Task’s perceptive and clever rhymes that transport the listener from the beginning to the end easily. He has also crafted beats for some of Utah’s heavyweights including The Numbs, The Smash Brothas, MC Pigpen, Kinnetik, Konsickwence, Yze, Munstar, Philthy Pheelup, ill Poet, Mind State and The Bad Apples as well as venturing outside of the beehive state on projects with The Moonblazers (CA), Animal Nation (CAN), Wildelux, Dice One & P Dirt (ID) and D Strong (NY). 2010 has collaborations with DJ Handsome Hands and The Moonblazers along with a new Task & Linus album, a premier Mbz & Linus album and contribution to The Numbs upcoming release.
