During the past few years, Lin has been at the forefront of the Detroit music scene, having shared the stage and/or studio with notable artists George Benson, KEM, Chante Moore, Peter White, Tim Bowman, Steve Cole, Donnel Jones and numerous others. His playing has been described as soulful, funky, and inspirational. Whether the musical style is R&B or Jazz, Lin has an innate ability to connect his music to his listener's soul. And his charm, intelligence and wit make him a great entertainer on and off of the bandstand.

Rountree’s first album, Groovetree debuted with his first single "For Your Love” featuring Tim Bowman which stayed on the SJ Charts for 15 weeks. By the time Lin’s second release “Candie” (which topped the first single) hit the airwaves, his music had already been heard on over 250 national radio stations and around the world on internet stations.

Sumthin’ Good, Lin’s sophomore CD released August 2008 by Warner/Ryko, features: the legendary Perry Hughes (guitarist with Earl Klugh and Bob James), two vocal tracks, one featuring international soul sensation Amp Fiddler (Kiss on Ya Soul), and the other with up-and-coming R&B superstar 19-year-old Valencia (Get Away), and a collection of spirited and punching grooves that will fill your soul with “Sumthin’ Good!”

As an endorsee of Wisemann Instruments, Rountree recently toured China where he was treated to a behind the scenes look at the making of his very own trumpet and performed at many places including the Midi School of Music and the Contemporary Music Conservatory.
