The streets of Oak Cliff, a neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, can easily be seen as rough and sometimes harsh. It's a place where only the strong survive and Survival of the Fittest is a motto to live by, but through all of the struggle and pain awaits a diamond in the rough.



Born on the first of June in 1988, Kenneth Porter never had a silver spoon in his mouth and had to work for what he wanted. Similar to most children growing up in the 90's he witnessed first hand the rise and fall of legendary artists such as Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, but instead of simply listening to the music he embraced it. At the ripe age of 10 years old he came across a group of friends freestyling, it was fate that he joined in. Being a little bit smaller than everyone else he never stood out .His originality and presense was quickly felt by people would say that he outshined his competition. Giving root to the stage name " Lil Shine"

As a young boy dreaming was easy to handle. Lil Shine could often be found writing fan mail to his favorite record labels like Cash Money Records with hopes of being recognized and brought to stardom, He knew that he would have to work hard to turn his dreams into a reality. Now the 6'1 nineteen year old Lil Shine is dedicated to his music and shows it on every verse.

Currently signed to Big Wheel Records this up and comming artist is also an entrepeneur with plans for his own company Gorrila Cage Entertainment. Lil Shine holds interest in the business aspect of the industry and is always eager to know more about the always changing business. "Everybody's just hating on the South" he says " I did my research and when hip-hop was created it was about having fun by freestyling and breakdancing or whatever you did, I want to bring that back."



His hit record " check out my lean" is creating an incredible street buzz helping fuel the southern dance craze which has recently swept America. "I'm not just a dance song or club song rapper though" he makes sure to state when asked. His debut album " Deal Wit It" which will be hitting the streets full force 2nd quarter will show his skill and versatility with songs for all types of people no matter your age, race, color or shape.



So look out world, Lil Shine has a mind of his own and a message to deliver. He's from the streets of Oak Cliff and has seen and experienced more than most people could in a life time. .
