On October 24th, 1980 a young star was born by the name of Mario Hardy, Aka Lil' Mario. Being born and raised in Garden City Projects(Da Briccs) Acres Homes, Houston,Tx had me with a twisted way of looking at life. i thought all i seen in the ghetto was the way life went, but really it was the way ghetto life was lived. I attended Ermel Elementary which wasnt a bad school, but i was a class clown, so i was in the principles office alot. Growing up having 1 older sister and no brothers wasnt that hard for me because the older OG's looked out for me. I wrote my first rhyme in 1989, i was in the 5th grade. Around 1990-1991 i went to the sixth grade i attended Caraway Intermediate , a new school they built when i left elementary and we damn near tore it down. These people hated seeing our faces everyday for the simple fact they knew we was straight out the projects and dont give a fuck. This same year i started blowing up talent shows. In 1992 7th and 8th grade i attended Hoffman middle school which was a fast turn for me because my friends and cousin had me smoking lightly. In 1993 i got exposed to syrup promethazine with codein i wasnt buying it then just hittin the ogs cups. Og Rambo and Butterball took me and J-Dawg(Ghetto Delinquents) to a nigga named "Rude"(RIP) house where we recorded our first song called Garden City Hustlaz in 1993. By the time 1994 rolled around we had already been rapping on the cornaz and parks and school talent shows so we were local celebrities in the hood before putting it on wax. 1994-95 Now im on my way to high school i attended Eisenhower high school. I was nervous but ready because the tried to scare us saying that those big high school dudes are gone take our lunch money. with me having the attitude i have, i was like they got me fucked up!, but come to find out it was a bunch of bullshit because the freshmans were the ones branging the noise while the seniors were tryna get they ass up outta there so they wasnt trippin. Growing up in Acres Homes was a sight to see. niggaz gettin killed, robbed, jacked, stabbed, niggaz stealing, niggaz going to jail, serving undercovers, whooping Laws. This shit was real and live in my face, thats why i represent how i represent and claim what i claim and scream it like i mean it. eventually i started peeping game niggaz gettin locked up and not gettin right out like before. Laws gettin smarter and niggaz gettin killed. My O.G. Goo-Goo (RIP) told me before he got killed in 1995" young nigga mash in this rap game". In April of 1996 i caught a dope case 2 young niggaz(Me & J-Dawg) making cash and down for whatever. After that first dope case i slowed completly down. I left living in the fast lane to certain extent and started rapping bout that shit. I told my momma u can take a nigga out the ghetto but u cant take the ghetto out a nigga. My Daddy wasn't around when i was growing up thats why i give my momma all the credit because she played 2 roles mother and father. I have 2 sisters on my daddy side named Mona & Toya and 1 brother named Patrick from Dobbin,Tx. In 1997 i started focusing on my music when i met Michael 5000 Watts(Dj for 97.9 Da Box & Ceo of Swisha House Records), at the All-Star, (a northside teen club) and he liked the way i rapped so he gave me his number and told me call him. I hit him he told me he was working on a tape called NorthSide 7, which features a freestyle from me off that "im so tired of ballin" instrumental and a flow from the other two only members Lester Roy and Archie Lee. At the time plex was in the air between the North and Southside of Houston which i wanted to entertain but didnt cuz i know whats real and what aint and im bout my paper. In 1998 i brought J-Dawg to Watts because me and J-dawg been rapping together since way back. Then i brung Slim Thug in because i knew he was rapping around the school house. The first cd i got them on was "98 Live" aka "Swisha 98" off that "Homiez and Thugz" instrumental Me Slim Thug & J-Dawg. Later on i brung Big Pic in, a killer freestylist, and co signed for his cousin Big Tiger. Then i brung in PJ in too cause i heard a kareoke demo from him from one of his potnaz who usta stay in Garden City. I liked the lil demo, so i brung him in. Finally, in 1999, we dropped a Swisha House album called "The Day Hell Broke Loose" pt.1, that sold over 300,000 and is still selling to this day. That same year D-Reck Dixon Ceo of Wreckshop Records was thinking of shootin a movie called "The Dirty 3rd", and he needed someone to play his son. He saw me at a show handling my business on stage at Club Connections on the south side. He had found his son. While filming the movie i formed a good relationship wit D-Reck, Big Moe, ESG, Tight Eyes, D-Gotti, Laura, Floyd, Big Pokey, and DJ Screw(RIP). The following year in 2000, i dropped a bomb on the underground "Street Fame Pt.1", Kappa beach weekend. The hardest underground cd in H-Town that out sold any underground cd out of Houston at that time with over 50,000 sold and still selling till this day. That next year we came out with the sequel The Dirty 3rd Pt. 2, which named switched to "The Survival of the Illiest", which was on dvd and did good on the sales and had more actors in it. the following year i dropped my 2nd underground called Street Fame Pt.2(against all odds), which i didnt have a chance to promote cause i was fading a case and couldnt leave the county(Harris County). Me and Slim had beef because he made a song tryna get at me without saying any names, so i touched him up on Street Fame pt. 2. but before shit could hit the streets he came to me and squashed the beef before i dropped the Street Fame pt. 3 which silidified that the beef was dead. In Feb. 2003 i met a dude name Adrain Sparks aka Bullet Sparks and we did a collaboration -BulletProof and Northstar Records. i was working on street fame pt.3, but i had just caught another case and was facing 2 to 10 in TDC, so i didnt know if i was finna get locked up or what. I ending up beating my case, and right after that i started recording a little bit on my album "A Star Is Born" which consist of tracks from my people in Toronto Canada. In 2004 i got back on the road to make up for time missed on bond and in jail. By 2005 Lil Mario convinced his fans he was on a comeback trail being featured on some of the hottest mixtapes out of Texas. This year Lil Mario hooked up with Magno, and we was on the same mission and had the same views on certain issues, so we bonded off top and plus Magno payz homage 2 a nigga(real talk). in 2006 we stayed on the road tryna make something crack. While on the road doing shows and selling cd's. When I'd get back in town i would go straight back to the studio to finish recording my real album "A Star Is Born'. The same year Lil J, CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records called a H-Town All-Star meeting for a photo shoot for The Source magazine 2006 April edition. While the album was gettin ready we dropped a pre single called "Get Buck" feat Magno which caught alot of attention as far as mixtapes. That single showed Lil Mario was still at work and had lost nothing. The following year in 2007 Lil Mario got his groove back by doing shows and doing interviews on dvd's updated Lil Mario fans to let them know what he has comin out. By Oct.07 i stopped going on the road and got my own studio and started focusing on some new music and new product. At this point i was rapping and trapping full time. In November Mike Jones reached out to me to get me one of his mixtapes he was doing called "Running 4 President" so i came through and he was feeling a nigga off top. We chatted a bit & he let me know he came up jammin a nigga shit and it motivated him, so homage was paid. He told me that he wanted to help me & 50/50 twin because he know we deserve that shot and have paid dues. We are also are featured on his new mixtape Self Made. In 2011 Lil Mario is focused and has big plans so stay tuned to his page www.lilmario.com North Star 4 life!
