British-based Recording artist, Lilas was born and raised in Paris (France) of Congolese parentage.
A Teeside University (UK) Business Management graduate, Lilas is an accomplished singer / song-writer who has supported the multi-platinum selling, award-winning American R&B superstar Ne-Yo at his sell-out North East England After Party in Sunderland on the 18th of July 2009, she has also performed at the Wreka Festival in Gateshead, L' Afrique Festival in Newcastle with the African superstar Awilo Longomba, and was one of the headline performers at the "Miss Central Africa (UK) Grand Finale" to be held in London on the 12th of December 2009.
Lilas sings since she can remember at the age of 6 she joins the church choir, by the age of 8 she started writing and composing songs.
She kept singing in church and became a worship leader and trained others to worship leading.
In 2006, she released her Gospel single 'Don't worry', reviewed on www.blackgospel.com, in September 2004 she appeared and performed "Don't worry" on the God Channel 'Dream on TV show'.
Following the release of "Don't worry", she appeared on the Northern Echo newspaper and was contacted by ITV, they interviewed her and the interview was aired on ITV GMTV on the 11th of August 2006.
In 2008, she released 'Spread my wings' a Gospel album which is reviewed on Cross Rhythm radio's website.
After a break and searching herself, Lilas understood that she shouldn't limit herself in her career and that music is music, what matters is the message. She also understood from her life experience that her message should be heard by everyone Christian and non-Christian therefore with the release of her forthcoming smash debut anthem "Girlfriend" which is tentatively slated for release in 2011, Lilas will raise funding for Women's Aid England through it.
June 2010, she was one of the artists who participated on the song 'Congo Unite' by Congo Fifty (www.congo50.com), following that she has performed her forthcoming single Girlfriend at Congo 50 show on the 31th of July 2010.
The inspiration behind Girlfriend is her best friend life story
(Testimony), her mothers and hers, they are all been victims of domestic violence etc and they have also overcame it. At just 29 years old and single mother of 5 years old daughter, Lilas is a strong Christian lady and feels it is her time to share her testimony, help other women to overcome, not only through her music but also through meetings, conferences etc. In few words, Lilas wants to be that Girl friend who's going to help her friend overcome just like her best friend did with her.
An album, as yet untitled will soon follow in 2011, so be on the look out for what promises to be a classic conceptual album with a wide of emotive issues, which are close to this multi-talented African chanteuse's heart, and mind, mainly the plight of women, and children in her war torn Congo homeland, as well as the United Kingdom, and worldwide.
