A new day is dawning bringing with it a sense of yearning for more, a longing for more, and a calling for a deeper level of understanding. Today, many are searching for something in which to believe. Searching, for someone to answer their calling with a word that will make way for an understanding of the how and why of life. Among them, one heard and responded to his calling, setting upon a quest to reach the youth of the world with an encouraging message of hope. Experience has taught him that through perseverance, strength, and faith all is possible. Victory is within your reach so long as you reach for it. The dawning has brought a new day ushering in the Next Generation of Kingdom Music through the musical talents of artist, LP. Like the apostle Paul who went against the grain of his contemporaries to forge a path of enlightenment, The Mississippi Gulf Coast native, LP is spearheading a new movement to illuminate, encourage, and empower the young in spirit with a sense of purpose with his first album, “Testimony”! LP shares his life experiences, the challenges and the triumphs, missteps and step ups through his lyrically smooth rhymes, set against the backdrop of deep pounding base, and head bangin’ beats, blended with just the right mixture of smooth, laid back grooves to soothe any soul. The lead single, “I Know A Place”, has crossed lines that have never been crossed, being played on many radio stations across the country that have never played rap before. This song makes way for high praise with its “back in the day” feeling. Set against the old school sound of the Staple Signers classic, “I’ll Take You There”, LP melodically tells all who hear that there’s a party going on and he knows it’s the place. One of the many highlights of the song “I Know A Place” is hitting the top 20 play list of Stellar Award winning station WMBM, in Miami, FL. His current single, “We Can’t Lose” is a hit song that will be played for many years to come. The video for “We Can’t Lose”, being played on MTV, BET, THE WORD NETWORK, TBN, MUSIC CHOICE, and 18 other markets across the country. LP and the featured artist Joel, just recently performed the hit single “We Can’t Lose” on the Bobby Jones Show. “We can’t lose, with God on our side”, is but one of LP‘s messages to be found as he gives us his Testimony.



Recently in the summer of 2009, LP went on tour with Christian Rock Bands "Thalon" and "After Edmund", while promoting his current EP, MOVE REAL SMOOTH! "Move Real Smooth" is a well rounded, diverse project, which will bless the souls of every type of believer. The EP, which consists of rap, rock, r&b, and soul, caused LP to really stretch himself as a person and as an artist. The song "Radio", featuring the Christian Rock band "Thalon", has caught the attention of many of all ages, races, colors and creeds. Receiving airplay from Birmingham, AL's Top 40 HIT RADIO STATION 103.7 The Q, and Christian Radio Station WDJC 93.7. “Move The Whole Crowd”, which is the most loved song by youth and young adults shows Lp’s “kid at heart side” and “Celebrate”, featuring Shaundra Smith”, have received a lot of airplay on Gospel Radio stations, encouraging young and old. Lp also displayed his transparency in his song "Say Amen", which features "Howard Hewitt", whom wrote and performed the original "Say Amen" song , which became a crossover hit in the mid 80's and is still in heavy rotation on Gospel radio stations across the world.



LP currently host a television show, along with his wife, STAR, called "THE BREAKTHROUGH". The Breakthrough is a hip hop gospel video show, which plays underground and mainstream, Gospel hip hop videos. It also gives and opportunity to the studio audience as well as viewers to be ministered to during the show. The Breakthrough is currently playing though out AL, OK, CT, and NY.



Because of LP's skill, anointing, and tenacity, he has been nominated for many awards, including a "Best Video of The Year" Stellar Award consideration, "Best Hip Hop Artist of The Year B.A.M.A. Award(presented by Birmingham Weekly Magazine), Alabama Gospel Hip Hop Award "Best Album of The Year", and a winner of the Dirty 30 "Best Gospel Artist" Award, Alabama Gospel Hip Hop Award "Best Video of The Year" and the H.I.P H.O.P. Harvest Ministries "Golgotha Award" for outstanding service and dedication to the Body of Christ. LP has made appearances at hundreds of venues and has been granted the opportunity to be a presenter at the 23rd Annual Stellar Awards. He has performed at many churches, schools, colleges, conferences, youth events and clubs such as; En Fuego, "Disciple Now" events across the south east, Praise Fest, Impact 07 in Alexander City, AL, Greater Emmanuel Institutional C.O.G.I.C. in Detroit MI, Crenshaw Christian Center "Hip Hop Sunday" in Los Angeles, CA., Bobby Jones' Conference in Hollywood, FL, Urban Soul Cafe' in Nashville, TN, Shirley Caesar 35Th Annual Outreach Ministries Conference in Winston-Salem, NC, FCWFM "The Event" youth conference in Los Angeles, CA ,, AL, The Jazz Festival in New Orleans, LA, The Bay Fest in Mobile, AL, The Universoul Circus in Birmingham, AL, "BARACK THE VOTE" Urban Explosion in Greenville, SC, Canton Jones' CAJO Lounge, and many other events.



LP has shared the stage with artists like Kirk Franklin, 21:03, Tadashi, K-Drama, Deitrick Haddon, Da T.R.U.T.H., FLAME, Family Force Five, SuperChick, Nine Lashes, Ohio Avenue, Thalon, Candlefuse, and Plea 33, Shirley Caesar, Tye Tribbett & G. L.P. was born on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He spent his childhood and adolescent years there and in New Orleans, Louisiana. Local New Orleans rappers such as influenced him; Mystikal, Partners n Crime, the Hot Boys, and the No Limit Soldiers. Approaching high school, L.P. encountered the death of his mother and many other life changing events. He was driven by this to live a lifestyle of alcohol and drugs, but he continued to keep interest in sports.



Athletics won him a ticket to further his education at Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama, were he now resides. He began to notice the downward spiral in his life. One night, a friend led him to the knowledge of Christ. L.P quickly began to focus on the word of God. His roommate was a rapper from N.Y.C. and his skills inspired L.P. to rap. Both being inspired by God, began to do Christian Hip Hop. With the inspiration, L.P. began to rap as a witnessing tool. While displaying his rap skills in the barbershop, where he was formerly employed, he was given an opportunity to record with a local producer. (Ol’ Tyma of HEDBAUB ENTERTAINMENT)



L.P. has a mission to spread the Gospel by any means necessary. One of his means is through fulfilling his calling through music. He calls himself L.P. because he feels that he is “like Paul”, an apostle of Jesus Christ. Paul made a statement in the book of Romans, chapter 1 verse 16, “for I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ”, and he would spread the gospel and set order everywhere that he went. L.P. has come to spread the gospel and set order in the rap industry and everywhere that he goes.
