The
Light Of East Ensemble is a musical group based in London, Ontario,
Canada, that performs music of the Near East and Middle East. Specifically,
traditional, folk, Classical Arabic, Greek Oriental Rembetika, and modern urban music of
the 20th century, from regions such as Armenia, Greece (Asia Minor - Smyrni and Konstantinoupoli), Turkey and Arabic countries such as Egypt,
Lebanon and Syria.The following instrumentation is used: Clarinet, Double Bass (Contra Bass),
Doumbek (Percussion), Flute, Oud and Violin.
