Liar And a Thief was conceived on the cold, foggy shores of San Francisco. After moving back to Toronto in the fall of 2005, Jordan Arax formed a band around this idea and Liar And a Thief was born. The band quickly shook up the indie rock scene in the summer of 2008 with their “rocking and raging” (CBC’s The Hour) performance at the annual NXNE festival. With shows at large venues such as The Opera House and The Phoenix Concert Hall (where chosen as one of Toronto's top 5 unsigned bands by Edge 102), LT set the groundwork for the release of their debut record, Break And Enter (2008). They were also recently chosen to play The Steam Whistle Indie Club at the Edge 102 street level studios, where the band announced they were working on a second record titled Little Bag of Tricks (spring 2009). A record, which melds Jordan Arax's disaffected vocals with gripping instrumentals by fellow members Vijay Chawla (bass), and Evelyn Hall (drums). With prominent tracks like "Young Dead" (off Break And Enter) already certifying a strong position in Toronto's underground rock scene, Liar And a Thief is planning a very busy summer and loads of success with their newest record.
