Le Goumbé est une musique traditionnelle que les Frères de la Rue ont adoptée en bas âge, sur la terre rouge de leur village natal Tiémélékro, au centre de la Côte d'Ivoire, non loin de Dimbokro. Chaque week-end les grandes sœurs dansaient le Goumbé dans les rues de Tiémélékro. Une chanteuse était accompagnée par les Pères du Village qui jouaient sur de gros tambours, des temrus… Djé Cumba est l'ambassadrice de ce style, colporté par les commerçants et voyageurs d'Afrique de l'Ouest.
Début des années 80, ils se retrouvent chez les grand frères pour écouter des musiques venues d'ailleurs : Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh… les choses se sont alors précisées.
Ali et Issa n'ont qu'une idée en tête : rallier le reggae au Goumbé !
En 1983, ils prennent le train direction la capitale, Abidjan, plaque tournante de la musique en Afrique de l'Ouest. Le grand frère les incitait à y exercer un métier artisanal, celui de couturier, et à suivre des cours de franco arabes mais le virus de la musique les en a rapidement détourné.
En 1989, Issa dit Galaïfa, œuvrera alors aux côtés d'Ismaël Isaac en qualité de danseur et choriste.
En 1991, Galaïfa et Ali (dit El Mouroura) fondent leur groupe « Les Frères de la Rue ». En 1995, ils font la rencontre de Sidibé Demba qui produira leur premier album intitulé « Fanta Sidibé », sorti chez Pathé Marconi.
Cette même année le Festival du Fespaco, Marché Panafricain des Arts, au Burkina Faso, donnera une impulsion à leur carrière. Il s'en suivra une tournée en Afrique de l'Ouest jusqu'en 1997.
En 1998, Les Frères arrivent en France poursuivant leur chemin avec l'envie de présenter leur style novateur : le Goumbé Reggae
En 2003, ils sortent un CD 4 titres « Avant tout y'a la Vie » et composent la musique d'un court-métrage, « Paraboles », réalisé par Rémi Besançon.
En 2006, ils enregistrent leur troisième album « Ton Attitude » et décident de le sortir en Côte d'Ivoire ainsi que d'en faire sa promotion durant 5 mois (télés, radios, presses).
A leur retour en France, ils sont invités à jouer en Angleterre et aux USA (BBKing).

Goumbe is a traditional music adopted by the street brothers in small age, on the red ground of their hometown Tiemelekro, in the center of Ivory Coast, not far from Dimbokro.
Every weekend the big sisters danced Goumbe in the streets of Tiemelekro. A singer was accompanied by the Fathers of the Village who played on big drums, temrus … Djé Cumba is the ambassadress of this style, hawked by the shopkeepers and the travellers of western Africa.
Beginning of the 80s they are found at the big brothers listening to foreign music: Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh. things then became clearer. Ali and Issa have only one thought in mind: to bring reggae and goumbe together!
In 1983, they take the train to Abidjan, the capital-city, hub of music in West Africa. The big brother incited them to practice an artisanal craft there, such as dressmaker and to take French-Arabic classes. still; their passion for music quickly diverted them from this path.
In 1989, Issa says Galaïfa, will work beside Ismaël Isaac as dancer and chorus-singer.
In 1991, Galaïfa and Ali says El Mouroura founded their band "The Street Brothers". In 1995, they became acquainted with Sidibé Demba who will produce their first album entitled "Fanta Sidibé" released by Pathé Marconi.
That same year the Fespaco Festival, the Panafrican Market of Arts in Burkina Faso will give an impulse to their career. They will then be on tour in West Africa until 1997.
The Brothers arrived in France in 1998, still focused on their objective: to present their innovative style, the goumbe reggae.
In 2003, they released their four tracks album "Avant tout y'a la vie" and composed the soundtrack of Paraboles, a short movie produced by Rémi Besançon.
In 2006, they recorded their third album " Ton Attitude " and decide to take out it in Ivory Coast as well as to make its promotion for 5 months (TVs, radios, press).
In their return in France, they are invited to play in England and in the USA (BBKing).
