IT COULD BE YOU.
Rome conquered the world with its inspiration from the countries
around it, and the drive to rule all the eye could see. The tip of
its mighty spear was its tenth legion that lasted nearly the whole
span of the empire, a group of common men gifted with the favor of the
gods to march against the armies of the world, no one man greater
than the man at his side. They were Legion X……
The band took its time to find its identity, both in line up and
sound. They knew they had to tour, promote, and tour some more. Biting the bullet and doing it right was the bands outlook on the four years spent on the road promoting the band's 2006 debut album "Demonic Hour". After dealing with illness,
personal conflicts and creative differences, the band faced the decision whether or not to keep going. The only two members left, Syd Howell and Kurtis Campbell, decided the legion was not done. In 2008, the band found its winning line up. Jacob Groce first met Syd and Kurtis on the
Metal Family tours in 2004. His band played shows around the south with Legion X until 2006. He and the band found a bond both in music and in life on the road that made him a hopeful candidate to be their new rhythm guitar player. Next was the unexpected addition of the band's lead guitarist, Chet Powell, a kind soul whose musical influences and personal sound matched exactly what the band had been searching for. The final piece of the
puzzle came in 2009 when local drummer Jeremy Kidd was parting ways with his old band, which had also toured regionally alongside Legion X. The band was formed and it was time to
go back in the studio, this time with industry icons Matt Washburn mixing, Rodney Mills mastering, and the legendary metal drummer Kevin Talley laying the foundation for one hell of a album. "BEAT BY NOTHING" is an album that fans of all metal genres can appreciate. Expect songs derived from blood, sweat and tears - it delivers anything from heavy grooves, to melodic and classical guitars, in your face vocals, warm yet thunderous bass tones, and screaming solos with huge in-the-pocket drumming displaying their efforts to be beat by nothing. 2011 marks a new era for the band, not only with another album under their belt and a rigorous tour schedule in the future, but with the promise for a gradual rise to power.
