Leander Morales

Hi there world. Well, who am I?
I'm this guy living in Wiltshire UK playing music to audiences and songwriting whenever i can. I love performing live shows and have had a great few years playing shows with some of the greatest bands and artists I could've ever imagined. Ok, you may not have heard of all of them but really. they are some of the best.
I also love songwriting all different styles from rock/blues and Folk to pop/rap/and soul.
Although I do perform solo, my current project is Morales/Watts. We are a duo with a near complete album. I love this project as Jon and I have a great writing relationship. Genereally we are just ourselves. Jon's easy to work with and 2 years down the line we have supported Spencer Davis, The Yardbirds, Country Joe McDonald, Blockheads and future stars Ben's Brother. They've all been a pleasure to work with and have given us the kind of respect you don't receive when your a young muso. I must also mention that we have worked with people whom I regard as "a great" and they are percussionist - Sam Nadel, Bassist - Adam Newton and Cellist - Beth Porter. They have all played on our most recent recording. With Jon's critical ear I was left to seek only the best. The recording was made at Sam's place on a low budget but I think you may just like it?
Where are we going?
I'd like to think that after 15 years of performing that someday I will be able to release a successful single. I'm not too worried about the genre but I would love to be able to wake up tomorrow and feel that I could do anything I wanted without the pressure of the system. It is a selfish ambition seen as i already live in the 1% bracket of lucky bastards in this world. I am however a very grateful person so in a way I already feel I have succeeded, especially as I have helped to create a little Morales (my beautiful charismatic daughter) I must mention that my partner played a huge role in this!
So, where was I.
Oh yeah, making it! I'm sure many would ask "Where is IT!"
Well, I decided not to pursue University as I was in a band making some waves on the local scene, I ended up in and out of some terrible jobs really feeling like one day I might make IT! Many artists have this perception that if you work your ass off and push your work then you may get discovered. In all honesty you can work your butt off forever with no luck whatsoever, yes luck plays a huge role. You do also have to be exceptional which is something gained through experience, dedication and faith (in my opinion!) It does also help to know 1 or 2 people.
I haven't appeared on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury or had a number 1 album but my last few years have been nothing short of an adventure and perhaps that's priceless. Maybe one day i'll make IT! Who knows? (perhaps I already have) - That was a bit of a weird cliché ending to my biog!
