Lazywall are a Modern Hard Rock band based in Tangier (Morocco) that formed in 2003 when brothers Monz and Nao got into the local Reading (UK) music scene. Since then, the three piece band have played a lot of gigs, a few festivals, recorded an EP with Steve Albini in Chicago, mastered with Sean Magee at Abbey Road, rocked a maximum capacity of 20 000 crowd in Casablanca, been through the same sh*t every hard working breaking band usually goes through to get where they are now and values every fan that takes the time to appreciate their sound.
The band's name was derived from a wall along the coast of Tangier (Morocco), overlooking the Mediterranean Sea across to the coast of Spain and mainland Europe. On this wall, ambitious Moroccan citizens sit, smoke, drink and dream of "making it" in Europe. The wall is known by locals as sour al maagazine, the lazy wall.
Back of their 2007 tours in France and the Czech Republic, the band set to record their material in early 2008, for their first album "Apoptosia". Introducing moroccan instruments and lyrics in their new songs to create a perfect symbiosis of sounds. An album that was produced by Anton Pukshansky(2 times grammy awards winner), and featuring songs like "Cold Enemy" and "Obey" which have also been released in other compilations around the world ("Flowers in the desert" EMI compilation, "Rock hard" CD compilation of the german magazine, "Hard Rock magazine CD" French edition, and "Les Eclectiques Raptiviste").
Early 2009 Lazywall plays the SXSW festival in Austin Texas and a show in Los Angeles with guitarists Mark Levine and Lanny Cordola, and gets more attention in the USA, with interviews in NBC, Spinearth, and hits the top10 in some radios. Soon after, the band settles in Tangier, Morocco. Tarik E. joins the band as a guitarist, and the rest of the year sees the adition of two other bands members, Rachid on moroccan percussions and Youness Fakhar on Oud. Back to their craddle, in their Souk Asylum studios, the band start to record their new material.
2010 becomes the most succesfull year for the band, they play a live show on 2M TV, being the first rock band to ever perform live on moroccan national television. «I Raise My hand», first song to be released from the band's recording studios, reaches the top charts on moroccan & tunisian national radios. The band also signs a licensing deal with german label «Hands Of Blue Records» to release «Apoptosia» in Europe.
In April 2010 Lazywall released their album "Restart", with a collection of songs unreleased in their country before, that will only be available in Morocco.

Lazywall est un groupe de "Hard Rock moderne" puisant son rock alternatif dans les complaintes sonores d'Alice In Chains, la mélancolie de Staind ou encore le punch post-grunge d'Audioslave. Le trio musical, basé à Tanger, réunit deux frères, Nao et Monz - le premier au chant et à la basse et le second à la batterie - tandis que Tarik E assure la guitare.
Fondé en 2003 à Reading, en Grande-Bretagne, Lazywall sonne comme un hymne à Tanger. Son nom est une référence à Sour El Maâgazine, légendaire "mur des paresseux" de la ville du détroit. C'est donc loin de Tanger, sa mer et sa médina que les deux frères décident de former un groupe, très vite remarqué dans le milieu alternatif. Entre gigs et créations, Lazywall font, en 2004, d'une pierre deux coups: à Leicester, ils enregistrent leur premier EP, "Barclode Disclosure", et mettent leur talent entre les mains du manager Gary Field. En 2005, Lazywall allie le son à l'image en tournant, sous la houlette de Ben Hadler, le clip de "Reality", l'une de leurs chansons fétiches. La même année, ils signent un deuxième EP, "Demo". Lazywall sont repérés par les médias british, forcent l'admiration du public et sont même contactés par VisitBritain pour intégrer "Superficial", l'un de leurs titres, dans la compilation du guide de voyage.
C'est en 2006 que Lazywall donnent naissance à leur premier album. "Primal Tapes" est enregistré à Chicago par Steve Albini (Nirvana, the Pixies, Plant & Page,.) et masterisé à Londres, dans les prestigieux Abbey Road studios. C'est aussi en 2006 que le groupe fait son premier retour aux sources, au Maroc, sur la scène du festival l'Boulevard. 20 000 personnes sont au rendez-vous. Un signe pour Lazywall, qui pense désormais à revenir s'installer à Tanger, son premier amour. En attendant, ils continuent de tourner outre-manche: ils assurent, en septembre 2006, la première partie de Breed77 à Reading, s'envolent pour un concert au Prague's Rock Café en février 2007, puis en Avril au Tattoo Art Festival de Paris. En juillet 2007, ils jouent dans leur ville natale lors des Nuits de la Méditerranée. En octobre de la même année, c'est le Hard Rock Magazine français qui parle de Lazywall, incluant leur chanson "Back to the Cradle" à sa compilation.
En 2008, Lazywall posent leurs bagages à Tanger et entament l'enregistrement de leur deuxième album, "Apoptosia". Mettant en musique leur retour au bercail, Lazywall mixent sonorités et darija marocaines dans leurs nouveaux morceaux. Ils se produisent en Mars au festival international des Nomades, emplissant les dunes de M'hamid El Ghizlane de leurs riffs saturés. En Mai, c'est la capitale qui découvre leur Rock entraînant, sur la scène des Mghrib Music Awards, au théâtre Mohammed V de Rabat. Les médias marocains sont sous le charme, et la chaîne Medi 1 sat leur consacre un portrait dans son émission Echos People. En juin 2008, Lazywall retrouvent le public de Casablanca, pour un second show lors de la dixième édition du festival L'Boulevard. Les tangérois vont ensuite conquérir les Etats-Unis, se produisant au Joe's Joint à Los Angeles, précédé d'un show au SXSW 2009 à Austin, Texas, accompagnés aux guitarres par Mark Levine, auteur du livre "Heavy Metal Islam" et au clavier par Anton Pukshansky, producteur et deux fois vainqueurs des Grammy Awards . C'est d'ailleurs lui qui s'est occupé, en juin 2009, de mixer et de finaliser "Apoptosia", dont le premier single, "Cold Enemy", est prévu dans "Flowers in the Desert" la compilation de l'EMI, le renommé major du disque.
