Lauren Guillery & The Claws

Lauren Guillery is a singer and guitarist residing in Dublin, Ireland. She originates from a small village near Flemish city Lille in Northern France, a few miles from the Belgian border.//
In 2007 she was voted ‘Best International’ at the Balcony TV music video awards for performing the acoustic version of her song ‘Rude’ earlier released as part of her debut 4-track EP ‘Listen!’. She is currently in pre-production for her debut album.//
With Sonic Youth and Zeppelin listed as influences, Guillery's percussive and moody tunes oddly mix blues with punk, giving the alt-rock compositions an edgy twist, propelled forward with a superior bjorkesque squeal. Indeed, Guillery’s instantly arresting voice demands you stop and listen, and her performances are high in energy.//
She has toured Ireland and shared the stage with Norwegian post-punk Ungdomskulen, sensation French female Les Plastiscines and hundreds of Irish acts including God Is An Astronaut. Not least among her recent side projects does Lauren sing backing vocals in a nine-strong choir led by Polish experimental artist Ewa Gigon.//
