“Analog Mind in a Digital World” is the theme that Philadelphia based, LATEBLOOM adopted for their new release, The Hovercraft Diaries. Written, recorded, produced, and performed by Singer/Songwriter/Producer Lance Davis (formerly of SHELTONDAVIS), guitarist Chris Horne and bass help from Ric Tutlo. A special thanks to my good friend, Mike "The Rebirth of Rock-n-Roll" Gordon for the lyrical collaboration on Isolater, the title inspiration for Killing Time and of course.Birdfeeder! The Hovercraft Diaries is Lance's second release since his 2003 debut SHELTONDAVIS:Bittersweet and Low with guitarist Tim Shelton.

-'Between assuming the glam thrills of T.Rex, Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie, and the rockabilly fearlessness of X, LATEBLOOM sneaks in some equally brave balladry. They’re a band whose respectable forerunners are carved in stone, towering figures like Morrisey and Bob Dylan sharing table space with Goth and Industrial subscribers like Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and Front 242. The pop-ier moments on the Hovercraft Diaries unearth other influences, ones you can’t help but think the bands members weren’t aiming for.'

–Michael Pollock(Out and About magazine)

The sound can be described as Eurorock/underground, Rootsie /Folkie stripped down, with a hint of Psychedelia. It’s edgier than Singer/Songwriter but deeper than your average rock.like a butterfly dropping an Atomic Bomb.

Lance Davis is a self-taught Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Artist. He has been pursuing music and art for 17 years, touring parts of Europe and the U.S. For the better part of the 90's, he fronted the mood brooding band FOR SOULS ON FIRE and worked with NYC Crush managements, Jonathan Daniel (Butch Walker, Gilby Clarke). In the mid to late 90’s, he spent most of his time focusing on songwriting, visual art, business pursuits and sharpening his recording/producing skills. Since then, Lance has produced/co-produced many underground Indie releases such as:

*Ed Spacer (Boston, MA) – Can’t get Ed out of my head (1997)

*Carnelian (San Francisco, CA) – Passing through (1999)

*Lucky (NYC) – Wave your G (2001)

*Transgressions (Wilm, DE) - Lo-Fi Bass Explorations (2001)

*Shelton Davis (Philadelphia, PA) – Bittersweet and low (2003)

*LateBloom (Philadelphia,PA) – The Hovercraft Diaries(2006)

*Betty's Bones (Harrisburg, PA)-- Uh-Oh E.P.(2006)

*Alex Radus (Philadelphia, PA) -- Love me like you hate me (2007)

LATEBLOOM is currently booking both full band and solo acoustic dates throughout Philadelphia and the Tri-state area.

Due to a large number of requests, I have re-mastered some of the lost 4-track recordings of my band FOR SOULS ON FIRE from 1994-1995. All songs were written and recorded by BOLEN/DAVIS/SHELTON and are now available for download. Enjoy!
