Lara Janine's second album, "It's My Time", the follow up to her
award-winning self-titled debut album, has arrived. These personal songs
seamlessly combine classical music themes with hard-edged R&B rhythms to
create songs never heard before.
In this album, Lara has given herself this opportunity to be incredibly
honest, having written or cowritten every song. "I knew exactly what I
wanted to say and how I wanted it to sound musically. On past recordings, I
was still trying to find myself-- this time I had a better idea of myself as
an artist."
The title track, "It's My Time", speaks volumes. "I have fully come to the
table as an artist. I'm living my life exactly as I want to from the inside
out." This album is a testimonial to Lara's conviction as an artist and a
person.
No stranger to performing, Lara has received rave reviews in the LA Times
and Backstage West (among others) for her role as Otilie in "Dvorak in
America" (Director David Galligan/Choreographer Lee Martino) and recently
played Jasmine in "Aladdin the Musical" (Director Stefan Novinski/Musical
Director Todd Schroeder). Currently in Osaka, Japan finishing up a run
playing Elphaba in "Wicked", Lara says, "I am having a wonderful time in
Japan and am excited about building a fan base here as well! I've already
started performing music from this new CD and the reaction has been
phenomenal"
Lara's songs can be heard on television shows such as Degrassi, Access
Hollywood, and How Do I Look? "Just Like That", a song perfect for sports
themes, was used in the Orange County Register's Football Recruiting Video.
She has been a Featured Artist along with Britney Spears and Destiny¹s Child
on Trollz.com and was nominated three years in a row by the Orange County
Music Awards, including Best Alternative Artist and Best Female Artist. Two
of her songs, "Let Me Put It To You This Way" and "Walking Away" (written
with Amy Powers and Mike Busbee) both entered the Broadjam.com Top Ten.
Lara was awarded Top Female Vocalist in Pop & Overall by Garageband.com and
her songs, "Just To Be Loved By You", "Walking Away", and "Let Me Put It To
You This Way" won Track of the Day, as well as, multiple Reviewer Awards on
the Garageband.com website.
She was also awarded Top Female Vocalist by the California Thespian
Festival.
Lara has been heard regularly singing the National Anthem for this year's
Stanley Cup Champions, The Anaheim Ducks! Her beautiful voice can also be
heard as the voice of the singing Barbie doll "Princess Anneliese" and her
singing is featured on many Barbie commercials for Mattel as well.
Lara Janine is a force of nature. Singing and playing to capture what she
hears inside. She has translated this completely into her new CD. She is a
true artist. To see her perform is sublime perfection. What she does on
stage is all that she's ever wanted to do, ever and she comes vibrantly
alive as the music drives her and moves her. "It's My Time" captures this
and all that she is right now.
