La Puma comes from the very fertile rock n’ roll soil of Stockholm, Sweden. Their influences are all over the place but they stick to a good mix of ‘70s punk/hard rock with a modern spin. The band of Torbjörn Gjers (guitars), Frida Ståhl (bass) and Kalle Gustafsson (drums) surround the very sultry and hyper-sexed Helena Gutarra who can be as intoxicating as Billy Holiday.

Their music contains a lot of humour, sex and rock n’ roll and is inspired of 70- and 80 s rock such as Ramones, The Pretenders, Blondie, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.



La Puma came together as a band 2002 with the humble ambition to create rock history. Over the years they have managed to establish their name and make it stand for energetic live performances, strong melodies together with a charismatic and powerful lead singer.



In 2007 La Puma landed a record deal with Universal/Nightliner.

Their debut album was released in May 2008. The album was produced by Knut Schreiner (Turbonegro) and Torbjörn Gjers, giving it a stylish punch in the gizzard to their retro trash rock. A duet “Walk With Me” closes the disc with Helena and Perisher’s vocalist Ola Klüft entwined in a mid-tempo love ballad that drowns in a swirl of glorious feedback.



La Puma is a real happy boast and a definite part of Sweden’s rock future.
