La Fundación

La Fundación, formed in 1999, recreates the authentic jamaican sounds of instrumental ska and rocksteady of the sixties and at the same time offers a unique sound to the Puerto Rico's reggae scene.



On April of 2000, their debut took place at X-plosion Waterpark in Caguas which gave them an immediate top-notch position in the local scene with their distinct sound. In the following years, La Fundación has shared the stage with legendary bands like Stubborn All Stars, The Suicide Machines, King Django and a couple of times with one of creators of jamaican music, The Skatalites.



Their first official recording 'Juez de Valla' EP was independently released in a limited edition vinyl on July, 2006 on their own Cutlass Recordings label. A small tour followed including dates in Boston and New York City's Version City Parties.



Either with their original themes or with their tribute to the classics, La Fundación is going to move your feet to the jamaican beat, sixties style.
