EN/ A violin, a double bass, three guitars and a voice join forces to create a universe at once tender and animalistic, fusing the explosive energy of gipsy jazz and the lyrical honesty of the great chansonniers. Imagine a punkrock rhythm section going acoustic, with Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli exchanging solos while Tom Waits, Jacques Brel and Louis Armstrong pop in to tell their darkest tales.

Live, La Femme Belge eschews neither chaos nor beauty, performing with an apocalyptic intensity seldom seen in acoustic line-ups. This outfit is pretty hard to outswing, and their effervescent performances have left many an audience bewildered.

La Femme Belge has camels, monkeys, chickens and a pair of loooooong legs running around in the five new songs that were recorded at the legendary Jet Studio in Brussels. On this page you can check out three of these: ENC (Excited Naked Chicken), Slippery Slope and Don't Feed the Camel. Enjoy, and let us know what you think. Cheers!
