Labhaoise has been singing for many years but started out working in film, working behind the scenes on numerous productions such as 'Lassie', 'Breakfast on Pluto' and 'Adam and Paul'.
However, she chose to leave the Film world and concentrate more on her singing after a chance meeting with song-writer Len Arran, long time songwriting partner with Skin, and Multi-Platinum award winning band Skunk Anansie in late 2006.
Another chance meeting lead to Labhaoise and Len being introduced to Maria Angeles Alcala, a wonderfully gifted Viola player from Cordoba, Spain who is a graduate of the Rafael Orozco College, later studying with Felix Schwartz.
This collaboration has produced a collection of honest, intimate and very personal songs.
For an eponymous 3 track EP, recorded both in Ireland and the UK, Labhaoise was joined by drummer Mark Richardson, (Little Angels, Skunk Anansie, Feeder) who took time away from touring to lay down some beautifully subtle drum tracks.
Since Spring 2011, Labhaoise has been singing with up and coming Irish indie folk-rock band 'The Crayon Set'. With their catchy upbeat melodies, multiple layered harmonies and eclectic mix of instruments, they are fast making their mark on the Irish music scene and are definitely one to watch!
Labhaoise also has a deep appreciation for Irish Traditional music and has performed abroad on numerous occasions with the exhilarating and critically acclaimed Irish music & dance shows 'Ragus' and 'Celtic Legends'. Labhaoise also performs regularly at various private and corporate events both as a solo artist and as a member of 'Musa', a three piece vocal harmony group.
Labhaoise has performed live in the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and throughout Ireland, and also enjoys playing guitar and flute.
