NOTHING SWEET NOTHING IS NOW AVAILABLE AT CDBABY:

AND, ITUNES:

Singer-Songwriter Kym Tuvim is the daughter of a pianist and granddaughter of a big band leader, so it's safe to say that music was like breathing in Tuvim’s childhood home. Growing up in central, suburban California, she was playing piano, guitar and writing songs at an early age. When it came time to go to college, she chose Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, where she studied Jazz piano and composition. She's been based in the Northwest ever since. Her last two albums have been critically praised by fans and critics alike, including Acoustic Guitar and The Performing Songwriter Magazines. With a huge voice, stellar guitar chops and a penchant for telling stories with emotional truth, Tuvim has built a strong following in listening rooms, living rooms & festivals across the country. Of Tuvim's live show, About.com said, "Seattle singer-songwriter Kym Tuvim can sing. .A remarkable performer, she didn't bounce all over the place or boogie behind her guitar, and she didn't need to. Her songs were thoughtful, provocative, and relatable. Her voice w as solid, strong, and soaking with soul." Tuvim has shared the stage with Susan Werner, Girlyman & Kris Delmhorst, among others, and in 2005, she was voted back for the 2006 'Most Wanted Tour' by the audience at The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, one of the largest folk festivals in the United States, held every Summer in the Berkshires in New York State.

With her third release, Nothing Sweet Nothing, Tuvim genre-bends through roots, folk-pop, jazz, and swampy blues, offering up unguarded observations on the quiet inbetween places where love fails and where it is the saving grace. Of the record, Tuvim says, "Lyrically, the songs were the most truthful and bare that I had written. Musically, they were the most diverse." Written over 3 years, the songs trace a musical path Tuvim had begun years before when she first discovered her love of jazz and samba while studying music at Cornish College. Combined with her singer-songwriter background, and add to it (delete) a new found interest in slide guitar, Tuvim brings her smoky, soulful voice to these tunes, tying them together in a lush and lyrical album. Already cited by The Performing Songwriter Magazine as a Top 12 D.I.Y. (Dec '07) and selected as an Editor's Pick at CDBaby, Nothing Sweet Nothing has been receiving high marks from radio and press across the country. The Performing Songwriter Magazine says: "With a knowing perspective reminiscent of Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell and Aimee Mann, her songs practically seethe with sensuality." And, fellow award-winning songwriter and Red House Recording Artist Meg Hutchinson says: "The songs on Tuvim's new record Nothing Sweet Nothing are intimate, haunting and go straight to the heart." Without much fanfare, the new album was digitally released over the '07 summer, and will be officially released in Spring of '08 with concerts currently scheduled in the Northwest and New England.
