A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT THE BAND

“The songs pound merciless and deafening like there’s no tomorrow.”

The long-awaited new release is here."Legacy Of Persistence"

Kudra Mata is rising fast. After forming a solid line-up in early 2006 and releasing a strong-as-iron 3 track CD “This Is My Pledge” that same year the time had come to blow away the scene in Holland. And successfully so!

The band played numerous shows throughout the country with tours like “Het Noorden Is Gestoord” and “Spit Your Rage”, opened for bands such as Walls Of Jericho, Caliban and Sworn Enemy, was nominated for the SENA PopNL Award in 2008 and rocked the ‘Melkweg’ in Amsterdam to it’s core. Also that year at the Bevrijdingsfestival (“Freedom-Festival”) in Zwolle one could witness this well oiled metal machine and Germany and Poland got to suffer the ferocity of their raw and brutal music as well. All this resulting in gaining a household name in the The Netherlands, a fast growing fanbase and their notorious live reputation

With the new record on hand, which was mixed by Michiel Toenink (Sick Of It All, Napalm Death) and mastered by Göran Finnberg (In Flames, The Haunted), this energetic foursome proves they definitely established themselves within the top of the Dutch metal scene.

Late summer 2009 saw Mart leaving Kudra Mata to pursue his career behind the scenes. Drummonster Tim Kuper joined the band short after to successfully continue the legacy. With yet another bash on the gaspedal, the 4-piece in no-time did raging supportshows for metalgiants Lamb Of God and Sepultura and climaxed at Holland's biggest fetival The Zwarte Cross alongside Meshuggah and DevilDriver.

Keeping the band's ambitions in mind, Europe can ready itself for Dutch Premium Metal, right in your face! Nothing more, but they certainly won’t do it for less. Period

Kudra Mata played with:

Lamb of God | Meshuggah | Sepultura | Walls of Jericho | DevilDriver | Caliban | Entombed | Sworn Enemy | Volbeat | Born From Pain | Cancer Bats | Textures | Destruction | Maroon | Belphegor | As We Fight | Dark Funeral | Cataract |.a lot more awesome bands and counting.

Reviews of "Legacy Of Persistence" (2009, EP):

.This type of music needs tight playing, enthusiasm and above all al lot of energy. And that's exactly what his EP is pacekd with. Again, this is the proof that touring a lot results in a well oiled machine. I think that all the energy, which characterizes Kudra Mata on stage, is caught perfectly on this release.

The songs on their own are well arranged and show an evident progress in comparison to their first release.

.One of the top players when it comes to metalcore in The Netherlands has to be Kudra Mata. In 2006 they released the three-song EP This Is My Pledge and now, being more experienced than ever before, they present us six new and goddamn heavy tracks.

This four-piece brings some refreshing metal, so they won’t have to be afraid that they would receive the label “Eenheidsworst”. Whether they play fast and aggressive or somewhat slower and heavier, the music stays interesting. The sound is furthermore also awesome, this due to the mixing of Michiel Toenink (Terror, No Turning Back) and the mastering of Göran Finnberg (In Flames, The Haunted).

This nicely decorated digi-pack is a good way to get introduced to the sound of Kudra Mata, but don’t hesitate to go to a gig of these guys when they’re in the neighbourhood. Their live product is even better.

.The music Kudra Mata plays is very indebted to the Swedish sound, especially a band like Impious comes to my mind when listening to these guys from Hengelo. With only one guitar player, they still manage to make an impression on that front. They have a lot of rocking riffs which makes their metal/metalcore some more interesting. But overall Legacy Of Persistence contains six cool tracks that are worth listening to.

Reviews of "This Is My Pledge" (2006, demo/EP):

.especially the agressive vocals of Karel Lenferink match those of todays leading vocalists in the genre. Moreover, the guitarsolo in "Between Pictures And Reality" very strong. These guys just have to tour A LOT and then a lot beautiful things can originate. Meanwhile, "This Is My Pledge" is already a fine piece of work"

.vocalist Karel has a great voice and he gives the record a lot of kick in the ass.

.the opening track “My Pledge” opens nicely with a cool guitar solo and when Karel starts screaming, the song turns into a monster. The breakdown in the end is really nice and it fits perfectly into the song structure giving the listener a knock out punch in the face.

.listening to “My Pledge” I can only conclude that this four-piece sounds tight as hell. Their metalcore reminds me of Himsa and Cataract at times and their new singer Karel is definitely a huge improvement for Kudra Mata. Damn, I never expected these guys could pull this off! All band-members are well-skilled musicians and the recordings by Michiel Toenink make sure you hear every instrument loud and clear.

.if Kudra Mata can play live shows that have the same intensity as these three songs they’re well on their way to recognition.
