High on lifeā€¦a feeling that's tough to let go of when you're surrounded with family, friends and fans who lend their endless support, and have encouraged me every step of the way. I am sitting on a mountain top of excitement and waiting to share my love of country music with everyone.
I guess you could say my interest in music began when I could talk. Growing up, I was naturally drawn to the school and church choir, then learned guitar as well as studied voice for four years.
Since my 1998, YTV Achievement Award nomination, there have been many singing competitions and live performances along the way, including opening for Donna Ferra, Aaron Lines, The Good Brothers, and Ronnie Hawkins.
In 2003 I moved to Toronto to focus on my career to pursue my dream of writing, recording, and performing country music. The tough road led me to Music Mentor Productions and producer/songwriter Peter Linseman, where I recorded background vocals on Donna Ferra's debut CD release, "Waited Long Enough" and had the opportunity to go on a small tour across Ontario.
Two years later I returned home to Abbotsford, BC, and in 2006, I started working at the local country radio station, Country 107.1. Where I have had the opportunity to showcase my music and surround myself with the love of my life, Country Music! By the end of the year, I was nominated for two BC Country Music Awards: the Ray Macaulay award (Rising Star), and website of the year.
The beginning of 2007 started out with a bang when I won "Media Idol" for B.C and got to fly to Toronto to compete with the winners from Media Idol across Canada live on the Canadian Idol Finale. To add to my year, my first single "High On Life" debuted on Canadian Country Radio across Canada in August and the album "High on Life" produced by Peter Linseman was released with a very successful CD Release party August 26th . In October 2007 I was nominated for 3 BC Country Music Awards: the Ray Macaulay Rising Star Award, Website of the Year and the Humanitarian Award (Which was so near and dear to me).
2008 is set to be another great year, kicking it off with the release of my second radio single "This Time Next Year" and much more in the works. I am enthused about the possibilities of what's ahead and I look forward to the blissful moments that will one day be unforgettable memories. My biggest dream is to inspire people with my positive lyrics and my motto for life, because I'm High on Life and what's to come!
