Brighton's favourite electro-pop act KOVAK have just been one of the first unsigned acts ever to be playlisted on Radio 2, the UK's most listened to broadcaster, with their forthcoming single Killer Boots.
To be released on June 18th, the track encapsulates the summer mood with it's hooky chorus and danceable beat. With the new video for the track, featuring Brighton designer Gresham Blake's clothing ranges, KOVAK are looking to hit the summertime charts and get the nation dancing.
After being voted 'Top 10 Critics Choice' of NXNE by 'Now' magazine last year, the band have been invited once more to play three gigs at the prestigious industry showcase event in Toronto (Canada) on 15th June, including two live interviews on CP24 in front of over 1.4 million viewers.
After supporting Toyah on her recent tour, another date is already in the diary, as well as a mini support tour with 80s pop legend Hazel O'Connor in the autumn. Having supported Hard Fi as well earlier this year, 2012 is shaping up very well for KOVAK.
Amidst all this, the band are busy recording their 2nd album with dance producer Andy Gray (Hard Fi, Paul Oakenfold, Gary Numan, Enter Shikari) at Arreton Manor, a haunted 15th Century house on the Isle Of Wight using a museum's worth of analogue vintage synths. The new album is due for release later this year with support from The Cult's producer Steve Brown.
Their very danceable track 'Sex Electric' from the same album is also featured in Michael Madson's film 'The Big I Am' and their music has been used on HBO's 'Make It Or Break It' as well.
A truly energetic and colourful live band, KOVAK are more than ready to dance, sing, jump about and run on the spot in a venue near you.
