-Occultus Nocturne 2007



2005-Upon the disbanding of black metal band Ashur (now reformed under the same name as a progressive extreme metal band) Occultus Nocturne formed a black metal band yet unamed with a friend on drums(L. Coffins). The band would be in the vein of traditional bm such as Dark Funeral, Marduk, The Abyss ect ect.



-A guitarist is recruited(M. Agmar ex-Ashur), and Occultus Nocturne assumes duty on vocals primarily. The guitarist recruited another guitarist (L.Veritas), making the band a four piece.



-Due to member disagreements and general lack of interest, the band dissolves.



2006- Death metal band Somnambulist is formed with L.Coffins on drums and A. daft on guitars, again O. Nocturne taking vocal duties. In the meantime, Kormeth is ressurected briefly by O Nocturne and L. Coffins.



-Due to pressing matters of life and obligations to Ashur, O. Nocturne leaves Somnambulist, Kormeth disbands again.



2007-Kormeth is reborn. (Statement from O Nocturne)"This is my band. This band is a vessel with which I shall make true black metal, for black metal, and nothing else. With this band, I stab at the elitists, the ass kissers who scream about Satan and constantly spout off the name of a dead man who believed himself to be god. I have no religion, and I don’t care to hear yours. I don’t care if you’re a Satanist, I don’t care if you’re a Christian. I don’t want to hear you scream about Christ, because in my mind, if you truly hate something, you will not speak its name. Everytime you trendcult jackasses scream about him, you validate his power; you keep him alive. With silence and time, all gods die. Simple as that. Black metal today is dead, save for a few in the circle, and the godfathers of the cult, my inspirations, that keep it alive. You people seem to have forgotten, that black metal is not who you know, or where you belong, but about yourself. It is about the individual, about empowering the individual. When you read this, I don’t care if you respect me. I encourage you to hate me, I encourage you to cast judgement on me. I want you to spit on me, ostracize me, treat me as if I were Jesus Christ himself, because I don’t give a shit. I do this for me, and no one else."



-The band is reformed as an experiment in minamlist noise and obscurity, very much in the vein of Beherit or Enbillulugal, and the album Contradict was made and released under Made With hate records with O. Nocturne at the helm, and friends as session musicians.



April 2007- Occultus Nocturne is joined by T. Smitchens on guitar, and S. Guts on bass.



-The band is slowly but surely working on new material for the sophomore release entitled "Sidereal Symphonies", which will consist of 13 tracks. The band has a new direction taking influences from classical music as well as all forms of metal, and is a massive step forward in the progression of the band.



December 2007-T. Smitchens and S. Guts go on hiatus from Kormeth and are replaced by Dodd on programming, samples and additional vocals, and Morder on guitars.



Early 2008-Due to lack of member commitment Kormeth disbands. Only the future will tell what’s in store for the tower of Kormeth. Your support has greatly been appreciated and with time perhaps the tower shall rise again.
