A Manhattan native turned, resident of in Rockland County, the man known to the music industry as "Kombat," breaks on the music scene fusing urban with suburban to offer listeners a refurbished taste of rap as it was meant to be, rather than your "dime a dozen" rapper spitting manufactured lyrics. With a humble upbringing and a diverse spectrum of musical influences such as Tito Puente, Anita Baker, Slick Rick, Sugar Hill Gang, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Biggie, Big Pun, (to name a few), Kombat's music is a product of his life experiences and the music of the golden era. He learned to love music when it meant more than big bank accounts, gaudy jewelry, and fancy cars that real people cannot afford, and wanted his creation to be a reflection of that so that others could have the same experience. In his music he talks about real fears, the endless struggle of rich and poor, the constant battle of good and evil. His music is that which speaks to the people by the people for the people. "I talk about reality at hand. things in the news, the mind controlling power of the Media System,my feelings,my goals and aspirations in life and just relaying it to the people in a way we understand it with out the back peddling or sugar coating." Kombat talks straight forward and from the heart and his genuineness and versatility is conveyed through his music.

Forced to grow up fast at a very early age by an unfortunate family accident, Kombat knew more about the realities and hard knocks of life by the time he was a teenager than most people encounter throughout their entire lives. Until he was thirteen he navigated the rough streets of the Lower East Side only to be uprooted to Rockland County by his parents in the search for a better life. The only problem was that his L.E.S. swagger and street smarts seemed to struggle with the transition. It was like Spike Lee meets Martha Stewart.

At war with himself, Kombat resisted adaptation to the clean streets and peace and quiet that seem so foreign to someone from the big city. He was used to the concrete jungle, the car alarms, crack deals, and staircases reeking of urine, not nice houses & good looking neighborhoods. It would take a few years of resentment, frustration, and acts of teenage rebellion before Kombat would become fully acclimated to this new location. Eventually respect and an understanding of what his parents actually did by moving the family out of the ghetto took the place of that resentment and frustration, thereby allowing Kombat to channel his life experience and emotions into a more positive endeavor, music. Following in the footsteps of his older brother he set out to rap, only to fall in love with it and be moved to make some footsteps of his own. Finally Kombat had discovered his niche and using his situation to have the best of both worlds, hood values and street smarts merged with an upstate etiquette and book smarts. The people will soon know why Kombat is a force to be reckoned with.
