Established in September of 2005, Doreen Williamson was inspired by the Knox Rejects, which was a coalition that booked punk shows with the occasional touch of metal within and around the Knoxville area. The Knox Rejects introduced her to many shows and many bands. Doreen attended Knox Rejects shows accompanied by her 9 year old son, with the end result always showing Doreen and her son a good time with a great show experience to share with all. The Knox Rejects, run by the one and only Raven, also introduced her to The American Plague, a successful local band from the Knoxville area, in which Doreen was amazed by and fell for them right away.

After attending yet another Knox Rejects show, Doreen acknowledged the existence of a metal band with some very young musicians involved, known as Psychotic Behavior. Andrew, Phil, Ben, Louie and Nija, which were the 5 young talented members of Psychotic Behavior, have since taken different paths that lead them to Whitechapel (Metal Blade Records), which Ben and Phil both settled into while Louie and Nija stepped into A Different Breed of Killer (Rise Records). On the side, Andrew formed an amazing solo project "88 Words" and also became the front-man for Knoxville metal heavyweights "Human Fuse".

When the Knox Rejects called it quits in 2005, Doreen felt the need to continue its legacy. She was assisted by Raven himself, and the vocalist of The American Plague whom were both inspirations to many in the local scene. They came to her rescue answering all of her questions, and leading her down a road where, at the end, was The Knox Scene Coalition waiting to be discovered and pushed onto a music scene in need of saving and advancement. Doreen couldn't have been more satisfied and thankful for Raven that gave the KSC its name and the front-man of The American Plague for his guidance and advice.

The first KSC show was booked at a small, local 18+ venue called The Corner Lounge with This Is Renaissance putting on a performance that no one could ever forget. Because of the overwhelming response from the underage show attendants, The Corner Lounge allowed all ages shows with the first show taking place in September of 2005. The locals on the bill were bands known as "1220" and "My Lost Cause". After such a successful event, Doreen continued having all ages shows anywhere and everywhere the KSC and it's local supports and bands were welcome. In return of Doreen's hard work and dedication, the local bands and it's music scene gained more and more exposure with every passing show.

The Knox Scene Coalition had to take a leave of absence from the scene for a little over a year, due to some hard times affecting owner Doreen Williamson and her family. Even after enduring homelessness, and a major death in the family, she has finally gathered up the broken pieces of her personal life and glued them back together. With that out of the way, the Knox Scene Coalition is ready to be dusted off, re-charged and pushed back onto Knoxville and it's music scene with full-force.

The KSC is not a business but a brotherhood and sisterhood of love and unity. The KSC and it's members do much more than just book shows. We have brought so much exposure to so many different bands over our 3+ years. With booking over 300 different bands, and 300 shows, Doreen and the KSC booked musical acts in the genre of acoustic, punk, metal and everything in between, giving every band and/or artist(s) she possibly could a chance to play, allowing the flocking crowds to support their preferred genre and have a good time.

You can ask a large majority of local show go-ers in Knoxville where they were March 4th, 2006 and 450 of them will tell you that they were attending the RedWinterDying reunion show in downtown Knoxville at The Electric Ballroom, which is now known as The Valarium. This was truly a metal show that no one who attended can erase from their memory. If you were in attendance the night of this historic local event, you can vouch that the KSC and RedWinterDying delivered an unforgettable show.

Some have noticed the "SAVE THE SCENEBRING THE NOISE" catch phrase around, here and there, which continues to grow every day to help bring back the unity and spread the word of the revamped KSC. No one person can save this scene, but together as one, we can. The KSC have always believed in unity, and since the absence of the KSC, the unity and the scene in general seems to have faded. The reason for saving the local scene is much more of a cause than the want to just book some shows. It's bringing friends, bands, and music fans together as one. as a family. If everyone wants to "SAVE THE SCENE", it will take more than throwing some bands together to make a local show.

The band-bashing publicly has to stop! It's fine to have opinions, but to openly hurt a bands feelings that are TRYING to entertain you and a slew of other people around you attending a certain show is NOT the way to keep the musicians in bands doing what they love, the scene strong and the fun of the events rolling in full motion.

Through countless hours of hard work, tired bodies and dedication, the KSC have struggled with many venue problems, but never gave up. Many of you were told that Doreen had turned her back on the scene, and it was a completely false statement by whomever it was made by. She had to first pull her family through their desperate time of need before getting back to the music scene to do what she loved most.

Is the KSC booking shows and putting together events again!? Unfortunately, not as of this moment. Will they? Count on it! There is so much more to the KSC than what you've seen in the past. In the upcoming days you will witness just what the KSC has done and will continue to do for this scene and it's bands.

To our supporters. thank you! We will not stop! We will not give up and if you knock us down we'll get right back up again and again, for we are

THE KNOX SCENE COALITION!

Bring the Noise and support local music.
