This Detroit native has created a generous array of music for artists like Young Jeezy, Jim Jones, Playaz Circle and more. There is no one type of sound for this producer. His music ranges from hypnotic RNB with jazzy old school overtones to street bangers exclusively known for tremendous kicks, clean snares, and nostalgic feels. Whatever you need, Knoxville can provide a fresh, new, and unique sound.



Music has been the life of David Stokes (Knoxville) even before he met the inspirational Notorious BIG in a neighborhood record shop on Detroit’s eastside around the time “Ready to Die” was ready for commercial release. Finding his niche in high school, Knoxville began searching for the right connections to fulfill his dream as a production artist, and soon found homage with Duke Da God and Koch Records. Knoxville’s first song with the Diplomat family was Duke Da God’s “The Pit” on “More Than Music: Volume 1”, and his very first break through single “Summer Wit Miami”, by Jim Jones featuring Trey Songz caught the attention of other artists like Slick Pulla, Slim Thug, Bubba Sparkxx, and The Game, not to mention the attention of the whole Diplomatic Community. Since then, Knoxville’s production stock has risen, leaving a wake for new producers to trail behind. In addition to his music production appearing in AND 1 Global Invasion on ESPN and several mentions in SCRATCH and The Source Magazines, Knoxville’s music has managed to create a fluid movement from New York City, to The Dirty South, even to the UK, and back again. Currently reining the introduction spot on the Playaz Circle “Supply and Demand” album, this ambitious and pioneering producer continues to create explosive heat on any song he touches.
