"I call to mind the kin of ettins
which long ago did give me life.
Nine worlds I know, the nine abodes
of the glorious world-tree the ground beneath."
-Voluspa

Kin of Ettins first came into being in late 2004, when vocalist/guitarist Jtun, formerly of Texas doomites Midian, began writing & recording songs for a new project. Having been inspired by 1-piece bands such as Bathory, Falkenbach & Sisters of Mercy, Kin of Ettins was originally intended to be a single man project with emphasis purely on recorded material. However, a change of mind came when it became obvious that not only would live shows be a must, but creative input would be more inspired with the right band chemistry. So long-time friend & bassist extraordinaire Donar was recruited into the fold in early 2006. Now an actual group, Donar's exceptional playing, technological know-how, and professsional attitude amplified the work ethic exponentially and by late '06 the first official recordings were being envisioned. Early 2007 saw the completion of the 'Wake' demo, placing KoE on the doom metal map for good. Drummer KC stepped in as of April 2009. Kin of Ettins is now making its mark on the DFW club circuit. A respectable live history has thus ensued with the band having shared bills with the likes of Solitude Aeturnus, The Gates of Slumber, Weedeater, Las Cruces, Warbeast, Project Armageddon, Dwell Within, Blood of the Sun, Wo Fat, Nashville Pussy, Black Tusk, Black Cobra, Green Jell, Urn, Psychostick and many more. The debut full-length, 'Tears for Lost Ages', is out now on Red Hare Recordings and available through Brainticket Records, as is the new live EP 'Doomed in Dallas'.
