Since 1998 Kill Switch has been dedicated to creating music which refuses to be defined by the rules of any type of musical genre. What they are dedicated to is turning out music which is skull-crushing, riff-oriented, groove-induced power metal. They are self proclaimed “pure metalists” whose music has been resonating through southern Minnesota for the last ten years.

Kill Switch was established when Jeremy, on drums, and Mark Basset, on guitar, were fed up with playing in cover bands and wanted to create their own music. Ben Jacobsen then joined the band and brought his bass with him. Mark Basset met Mark Holman and the Mark-Squared guitar duo was born.

Kill Switch made themselves known with their first demo CDs, titled “Beta 1.0” and “Beta 2.0’ where they began establishing an enthusiastic, hungry for more, hell raising fan base. Over the next few years they grew as a band and filled a unique niche in the Mankato band scene. In 2004 they released “What Doesn’t Kill Us.” which may be considered the bands true musical influx. Soon after the release of their first full length album the band acquired vocalist Dan “Wick” Wiechert in a successful attempt at evolving and focusing the band’s sound. Recently Kill Switch has opened for national acts including Drowning Pool, Saliva, and American Head Charge. The band released their second full length album in December 2008 titled “The Disaster Image.”
