PAPER WALLS AND THE VOICE DOWNSTAIRS - OUT NOW
Kerrang! - KKKK
SECOND SLICE OF AUDIO GOODNESS FROM HOTLY-TIPPED LONDON TRIO.
"IT'S NO bad start having a singer who looks like the glamour girl from a B-17 bomber's nose art come to life, or a drummer that gets mistaken for Pete Wentz in W H Smith. Kill Casino have already proven that their music also has the licks, kicks and curves to be taken very seriously indeed. Paper Walls. is a quick (12-minute) addition to their canon, and it's full of sleek alt punk darts (Second Sight and You Came I Saw) along with the enjoyably unsettling and edgy flipside to the trio's output. Karen Luan's steely-eyed vocals give Nightclubs an especially icy menace. Too short to be considered a second album, Paper Walls. should keep the dice rolling Kill Casino's way."

ROCKSOUND - 7/10
"09 has so far been a year for female-fronted acts, so what better time for Kill Casino to offload 'Paper Walls and the Voice Downstairs'? This second mini-album installment continues to refine the catchy alt-rock that Kill Casino championed on 07 debut 'I've been to London to See The Queen'. While the sound is more polished, Karen Luan's vocals remain as distinctive as ever. The most interesting track in 'Nightclubs' which sways into Dresden Doll territory rather than Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Overall the songs are uniformly first-rate landing on the right side of originality rather than emulation. This is contemporary and exciting rock."

KILL CASINO is one lady and two gentlemen of the rock persuasion.
All three aliens to the city, they set out to puncture the underbelly of the London live music scene, kicking up a fuss in some of the most infamous venues in the capital. Shunning haircut vogues and mass marketed 'brand bands,' the press were quick to champion the return of a front woman with credibility and charisma as an antidote to the stage-school rock dollies who had for too long exploited novelty over substance.
By Spring 2008, Kerrang! magazine had Karen labelled as 'A star in the making,' and the band were picking up airplay on Kerrang! radio, XFM, Radio One and underground networks worldwide. Comparisons to The Distillers and No Doubt further excited interest in the three-piece and when the accompanying video to debut single 'Stolen Eyes' reached the ethereal heights of Youtube's top 100 most viewed videos, it became obvious that Kill Casino were no ordinary up-and coming band.

In September 2007, after eight months in three different studios and a sizeable amount of hair torn out at the root, Kill Casino's debut album, 'I've been to London to see the Queen' (Nothing Stays Golden / Cargo Records) finally hit the shelves to unanimous critical praise. With magazine features galore and gigs up and down the country, this year has seen the band continue to cement themselves as bright young stars on the UK rock scene and in April at the personal invitation of frontman Tom Gabel, the band were honoured to be chosen to support rock titans Against Me! on the UK leg of their 'New Wave' world tour.
Their last single, 'Underwater' picked up plays across XFM, radio 1 and Kerrang radio and rotation on Kerrang TV.
