Hailing from the small town of Anniston, Alabama in the late 1950's, 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' quickly became infamous for their adrenaline fueled, instrumental mayhem. Taking nods from artists such as Link Wray and Screamin' Jay Hawkins, as well as being largely influenced by the horror films prominent at drive-in's during this time, 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' did their own take, paving the way for what was, in the near future, to become instrumental surf music. It was common on any given Friday night to find 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' belting out their tunes at local pool halls, saloons, barns or anywhere else that would allow them play. They had developed quite a following and word was starting to spread to surrounding towns and states. Unfortunately, some things were simply not meant to be.
Although known for their music, 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' were perhaps better known in the region for their activities outside of music. The band, all friends since childhood, had also become local legends for their alcohol smuggling, running for local business man/bootlegger, Uncle Hoot. On the night of October 31, 1960, during a whiskey run gone bad, all five members of 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' were ambushed and killed by a rival bootlegging gang, putting an end to what might have been…or perhaps not.
In 2010, 'Kill, Baby…Kill!' have risen from their graves to continue what they started fifty years ago. Awakening to find that their influence has been heard throughout the years by bands such as 'The Cramps', 'Flat Duo Jets', 'The Misfits', 'Man or Astro-man?' and 'The Ghastly Ones', the band decided to move forward and claim the glory that was once to be their own. It has been five decades, but the world will now be exposed to the horror that is KILL, BABY…KILL!
