Daniel "Kenyatta Fire" Terrelonge was born in Kingston, Jamaica and his love for music started in the household. Whatever everyone else listened to, he did as well. In his mid teens, he began to write and it easily transitioned into singing. Kenyatta acquired his B.S.C.E. in Civil Structural Engineering but this wasn't the end for him. He was determined to make an impact with his talent so singing at local lounges cemented his musical mission in life and prepared him for his greatest works ever. It wasn't long after that he began honing his talents whilst attracting major industry figures and influences into his project. A long awaited but destined outcome. To Kenyatta, music is as natural as breathing. When he adds his voice to a song, it is sure to be a bold and purposeful hit. His vocals are smooth, powerful and sultry.
Secret Lovers Garden gives you diversity with the tracks touching various genres ranging from pop to reggae. The album can be basically considered as a 'melting pot' of genres – mixed all together yet the finish product ends up as a timeless piece of art work. Soulful. Sensual. Crisp. Sweet. Creative. These are five words that can be used to describe SLG. Each of the tracks will provide the listener with a unique and refreshing listening experience. Everything that Kenyatta gives you is genuine. His music is full of melodies, harmonies, ballads with such smooth hooks, metaphors and similes. What a fusion of sound. He is an incredible artist with incredible talent. Composed of eleven indelible songs Secret Lovers Garden finds Kenyatta exploring life with veracity and purpose. Opening with a thumping house arrangement , the first single, "A Little Dance," is nostalgic, ("bring your body tonight") and yet undeniably passionate. "It's about dancing the night away" Kenyatta describes. Produced by Alex Barnwell this song will get your heart and feet racing instantaneously. "Equally personal is "Is There a Way." Pushed along by a sturdy and incessant piano, Kenyatta, shifting from those oh so recognizable smooth falsettos and baritones, rides the melody like a man both possessed by and resigned to his feelings. "It's kind of about giving you all to the one you love yet the affections are not recognized and intercepted. What to do to get through to you to tell you that I love you. Produced by the infamous Jon FX. Another one of the many diamond talents influencing the album. Kenyatta has carefully orchestrated a media blitz with the release of the album. Critics roundly praised the album not only for its musical polish, but also for its lyric maturity. Peppered by a funked up reggae, soul, house and popular music plus his Jamaican accent. It's very sexy stuff.
"It's a concept I can imagine as being a place where the "vessel" is comfortable. The soul is just in an irie space wondering happily and freely. I would deny if someone purposefully called this "garden" that of which is identical to the garden of Eden. For the imaginative; lush vegetation, animals, the whole nine yards. Yes and no. In the context to our modern world here presently this is the listener's choice of scenery but pure happiness in one's self and or with the likes of a partner must be there regardless. It's more of a personal (SECRET) state of mind which finds one loving the surroundings, happenings, significant other, family and life (LOVERS GARDEN)."
