Kevin was an unscheduled welcomed guest on the Threadgills Music Fog stage at SXSW. Before he performed this song, he told the heart-wrenching
story of Marysville, an Australian town of 500 that was destroyed in the recent brushfires. Kevin said it only took ten minutes from the time the fire was spotted by townspeople until nothing was left. And 100 had died.
Kane Welch Kaplin was touring Australia at the time of the fires and wanted to do what they could to help. So goes the song Marysville written and recorded immediately after the tragedy.
