It all started the day my grandfather passed away, I was

thirteen years old. Upon arriving at the house I locked myself

in his study. I began thumbing through the books on his

antique book shelf because they were flashing like sparklers,

there was a red walnut model airplane on a mechanical stand

with an inscription that read “Freedom is Flight” A sunburst

acoustic Gibson leaned against the corner of the room. Like a creative flea

jumping from one person to the other the guitar was

beckoning to me. I gathered enough courage to pick it up. I

strummed a few chords which my Grandfather had shown

me and every emotion that a thirteen year old boy can feel hit

me like a tornado. My hands became one with the instrument.

I felt life leap inside me. My heart was full of something it

had never known before. My spirit was dancing to an invisible

song. That October afternoon I made a commitment to God

and to my Grandfather that I would dedicate my life to the

pursuit of a legacy that he passed on. I didn’t choose music it

chose me.

What sets my music apart is it

comes from a vulnerable place. Majority of what

you will hear on the KMG stuff is the way it went down in the

studio. Live. You get the good, the great, even a few mistakes.

By nature it gives the music an extra edge.

It's like falling in love with a

childhood sweetheart all over again. Whether it’s your first

time experiencing the stories or your thousandth time on a

journey through the melodic wavelengths of the songs, my

goal is that time will forever remain an after thought.

For more than ten years now I have been busy crafting,

recording, singing, and performing. I was born to a southern

family in a small suburban town on the out skirts of Raleigh,

North Carolina. Our town had three stop lights, a Fourth of

July bicycle parade, and a soda pop shop next to the public

library; this is where I learned to dream.

Since moving to Los Angeles, I have had the fortunate

opportunity of working with some of the industries most

talented professionals including: Tim Myers (One Republic) Jeff

Silbar (writer of “Wind Beneath My Wings”), Busbee (Writer:

Rascal Flats), Tom Lillo (Lifehouse), and most recently producer Bruce Sugar (Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh).

My latest project entitled ‘Now is Your Moment’ is a collection of 11 melodic pop rock songs that salute the past and make way for the future.
