Kendal S. Turner, an internationally acclaimed author and poet. She is the author of Broken Yet Sustained by God, Anatomy of the Soul, and Thick Skin. Through her poetry, she has ministered to thousands world wide as a repeated guest of TBN. She has ministered nationally alongside the likes of Dr. Bobby Jones, Darlene Bishop, Dr. Medina Pullings, Pastor Charles Martin and international poet Taalam Acey. Turner also ministers at local churches, colleges, and high schools throughout the state of Oklahoma as well as other poetry venues across the nation. She has been featured on the front cover of the Edmond Sun Newspaper, the Local Heat Magazine and on several online websites.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Turner graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She currently resides in Oklahoma City with her husband, international recording artist Rozie Turner IV, and their four sons. She is a member of Integrity’s Voice of Victory Church, under the guidance of Pastors Charles and Paula Martin.
Kendal S. Turner doesn’t shy away from the hard, relevant issues of today. As a result, her in-your-face messages, coupled with her bold writing style have helped thousands of people find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. The reality of her poetry impacts the lives of all who read her books, hear her spoken word, or have the opportunity to see her perform. Turner chronicles her process for overcoming personal setbacks and finding the strength to face her dramatic past as she covers such subjects as; sexual indiscretions, rape, single motherhood, abortion, and countless other obstacles that God has pulled her through. Thick Skin, along with her other works have proven themselves to be literary life jackets for men and women drowning within their own lives.
Turner is the house poet for “We Tell Stories Poetry Night”, and as a member of the Oklahoma Word Pulp Slam Team, Turner has assisted her fellow poets in reaching their goal of competing in an upcoming national competition in August 2010.
